Thanks So Much!!
On Saturday, 9 May Joe Bleier and I traveled to Sulpher Springs to purchase a new John Deere X350 riding mower from United Ag and Turf. The mower is a bit bigger than the old one. The Lawn and Garden boss, Sam Asseff, is impressed with its capability. It is a commercial quality mower with an 18.5hp Kawasaki engine and a 42” wide mowing deck. A digital display is included which monitors fuel status, battery voltage, engine running time, mowing blade status and several other functions. It is easy to steer and fun to drive. Laura Funk gave it it’s first workout on Monday, 11 May. Check out the picture of our new addition to the Lawn and Garden crew.
Many thanks to the donors that responded to the need for a new mower. Thanks so much!!

Almighty God, whom truly to know is everlasting life: Grant us so perfectly to know your Son Jesus Christ to be the way, the truth, and the life, that we may steadfastly follow his steps in the way that leads to eternal life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Rector's Update - May 1st
Greetings to the saints of St. Paul’s,

Some have been without receiving the Eucharist since we stopped having regular in-person services on March 15 th , and two months is a long time! This week I started distributing consecrated hosts (i.e. the wafers) to those who let me know they’d like to receive them. Each Sunday, I will consecrate extra wafers, and have them distributed to those who let me know that they would like to receive it. During the online service, I’ll ask that those who received the hosts to consume it with me during the Eucharist. We’ll continue to do this as long as we need to do it. The catch is that you have to let me know that you want to receive the host by the Thursday afternoon prior to the Sunday you’d like to receive the Eucharist. Please let me know the number of people receiving, and how often you’d like to receive. The best way to let me know is via email: fathernickfunk@gmail.com . (click to read more)

As We Re-emerge

Each of us needs to pay attention to what we feel while our world—our neighborhood, our city—starts to loosen the restrictions that we have been living with for the past couple of months. It’s like emerging from a fast. You don’t want to eat too quickly; in fact, you want to savor every little bit. I think of cold water after a long walk on which I forgot to bring a water bottle: the way it hits the top of my mouth, back there above my tongue; the way it can be felt going down the throat. What will you feel—what are you feeling—as this slow but palpable transition begins? Continue reading

DOK PRAYER REQUESTS & BOX

The Daughters of the King support your prayer needs and wishes. Each Sunday a prayer team will be available to pray with you after the Worship Service in the choir area after the 10:30 service. If you would like additional information, please see a DOK member.

They also have a intercessory prayer box on the table in the Narthex to deposit prayer requests. Prayer request cards may be found in the pews and beside the box in the Narthex. Daughters pray daily. All prayers are confidential. Each person is prayed for one month. If you wish for continued prayers, please complete another request card or contact a Daughter.

You may call the church office (903-455-5030) and specify it is for the DOK intercessory prayer list. You can hand the card to a Daughter (she is always wearing her cross).
