Words to Ponder

"The Eucharist is the entrance of the Church into the joy of its Lord. And to enter into that joy, so as to be a witness to it in the world, is indeed the very calling of the Church...the sacrament by which it 'becomes what it is.'"

Tour of Homes 2021

This year’s Tour of Homes will once again be virtual! Four unique homes will be showcased in this year's video, available online in July. Visit www.stmaryofthehills.org/tour to learn more.
Share Your Input on Service Times
The pandemic season offered many opportunities to experiment with various components of our common life. Over the past year, we have tried gathering for worship at different times on Sunday morning. As we resume many of our pre-pandemic rhythms and routines, please share your preference for Sunday morning service times.
Altar Guild Volunteers

The Altar Guild continues to welcome new members, in a ministry of hospitality and preparation for worship each week. If you are interested in learning more or volunteering (summer, winter or full-time), please contact Sue Sweeting - sweetingsue75@yahoo.com or 828-406-9376.
All are welcome to join in this ministry!

Daily Morning Prayer

Morning Prayer is once again being offered each weekday, Monday-Friday, at 8:30AM in the Church. Masks and distancing continue to be required. All are welcome!
Discipleship Group(s)

These groups follow a format designed by The Restoration Project, guiding participants through the seven disciplines which need to be followed and regularly restored in order to walk the path of discipleship.  If you are interested in joining a discipleship group or in putting one together, contact Owene Courtney at  owene_courtney@yahoo.com to learn more about this beautiful way of living as the Body of Christ, the Beloved Community on the journey of a disciple.

Establishing Sacred Ground in Beloved Community
Consider joining us to do this work in small groups in a program produced by the Episcopal Church called the Sacred Ground Dialogue Series.

Sacred Ground is a sensitive, prayerful resource that creates space for difficult but respectful and transformative dialogue on race and racism. This 10 part series will meet weekly on Tuesdays from 4 – 6 (time could vary), in the Barrett Room at St. Mary of the Hills. We will use the hybrid model so that we can offer the class in person and by Zoom.

If you are interested in joining this group please email Owene Courtney at owene_courtney@yahoo.com.
Flower Offering Opportunities

Is there an important person or a significant event happening in your life? Is there an upcoming birthday or anniversary you would like to honor? Sponsoring the flowers placed at the altar each week is a great way to offer thanks for life’s many gifts. Many dates are available for 2021. Please contact Greta Wilson, parish administrator, for more information and available dates.

Please continue to remember us with your generous financial support.
Gifts can also be received via mail at P.O. Box 14 Blowing Rock, NC 28605.

Joe Raulerson, Financial Secretary, can speak with you about setting up recurring payments to fulfill your pledge. You may reach him via e-mail at financial@stmaryofthehills.org.
Worship Update

Masks continue to be required for indoor services at St. Mary of the Hills.

As we adapt to new developments, there are two significant changes we are making at St. Mary of the Hills in the days ahead -

  • Registration is no longer required for any service of worship.
  • Seating will no longer be marked in the Church for services of worship.

Live-streaming of Sunday services will continue via Zoom and YouTube. Links are included below and in a weekly e-mail each Sunday morning.
