RE Mission
Our religious education program works
to create an accepting environment that empowers children and youth to explore their spirituality, celebrate diversity, and live our Unitarian Universalist values.
|
Family Ministry
We believe that families play a vital role in furthering this empowerment to explore and live our UU values. We are excited to support our families by offering ideas from the UUA's Tapestry of Faith program as well as graces and thought provoking questions related to the topics introduced during Sunday religious education classes. We hope you find this enjoyable and spiritually fulfilling for your whole family.
|
In RE Next Week
Our children and youth will
explore puzzles, consider good and bad in sports, continue creating election materials, participate in a retreat and explore Indigenous Peoples' Day.
Check for details on our
Facebook Page and
website.

A Table Grace:
May we hold hands quietly for a moment,
feeling love flow around us and through us,
knowing that as we give love away
there is always more within.

A Chalice Lighting:
We light this candle to remind ourselves to treat all people kindly, because they are our brothers and sisters.
We light this candle to remind ourselves to take good care of the earth, because it is our home.
We light this candle to remind ourselves to live lives full of goodness and love, because that is how we will become the best people we can be.

May the following deepen and inspire your faith during the week ahead.
Contemplation Topic
- During a shared meal with family or friends or as part of a contemplative practice, ponder the following -
What promises have you made recently? How are they related to your faith values?
Lessons for Life from Sports - What lessons have you learned from being part of a sports program/team? Do these sound true?
1. How to be a good loser (and not cry, punch someone, or take the ball away if you lose.)
2. How to be a good winner (to be modest and so avoid making others feel bad.)
3. How to be part of a team (to play cooperatively, recognize your limitations, and support other's efforts.)
4. How to give your best (training even when you are tired and continuing to try your hardest.)
5. How to work for a long-term goal or objective (and making sacrifices to achieve it.)
6. How almost everything you do in life improves with practice. ~ from Raising Boys by Steve Biddulph
Color/Full - a photovoice project that provides an authentic path for creative and spiritually driven action on racial justice. Through the confluence of photography, community engagement, and storytelling, this project creates a venue to honor and affirm the presence, experiences, and cultures of UU and UU-adjacent people of color.
