HEADMASTER LETTER
In the spirit of the season, I offer a few things* about our ANP community for which I am thankful:
  • Mr. Chambers setting up cones prior to drop-off
  • Mr. Clark opening car doors every morning
  • Ms. Miller directing crosswalk pedestrians and her creative costumes (the alien abduction was probably my favorite)
  • Ms. Moizo’s leadership as Teacher Appreciation Chair for PSO. The teachers love feeling the love from parents
  • Ms. Bast’s video production chops with the Great-ful Hearts campaign clips – “I laughed, I cried.”
  • The great community-building events planned by the PSO – kudos to the PSO officers and chairs
  • The Dad’s Club outings and corresponding comradery – these are the guys you want to hang out with, and being an ANP dad just happens to be our common denominator
  • 'Walking the Line’ during dismissal, chatting with Ms. Hickman or Mr. Mounsey through an open window
  • Gathering with the walk-up gate gang during dismissal and seeing smiling children reunited with their beaming parents after a great day of learning
  • Mr. Perkins teaching PE for a quarter and opening car doors most mornings
  • The Headmaster Coffees – what a pleasant way to spend a morning
  • The generous Chick-fil-A dinners when teachers are asked to stay late for evening events
  • Parents who are invested in their children’s education by asking great questions, holding us to high standards, and believing in our mission
  • Parents who invest in their children’s education through Community Investment, tax credits, and Teacher Excellence Fund – we simply couldn’t do what we do without your financial contributions
  • Our ANP Advisory Council parents –Mr. Kaiser, Mr. Eriksson, Ms. Kullukian, and Ms. Perkins- who donate their time to represent the parent community when making important decisions affecting the school
  • The many, many parent volunteers who help escort students to class, lead reading groups, make copies, chaperone field trips, organize Celebration supplies, prepare food for teacher lunches, and so much more - You know who you are, and because there are more than I can name, the school benefits from such outstanding and widespread support.

* not an exhaustive list – the danger in such lists is always offense by omission, so my apologies in advance ; )
Truly,
Curtis Fee, Headmaster

LOVE AND LOGIC
Archway North Phoenix made the investment to have on-site facility training directly from a Love and Logic professional prior to school starting in August, and our faculty just had another on-site training session last week.
This is why we are making the investment:
  • Our faculty learns how to discipline kids without losing their love and respect.
  • ANP faculty is focused on helping students develop personal responsibility, self-control and good decision making skills.
  • Unlike some approaches we don’t use complicated reward or punishment systems only focused on short-term compliance.
  • Instead, we focus on nurturing long-term relationships and reinforcing good character.
