College Counseling

JUNIORS Reminder:

Tuesday, January 30th: College Planning Kickoff from 6:30-8:00pm (mandatory for students, families encouraged to join as well) in the Fox Auditorium

  • Juniors must attend this event, and their families are highly encouraged to join if they can! This is going to be the big kickoff to your college planning journey (YAY!). The college counselor (Ms. Denz) will go over resources, timeline, what colleges are looking for, and other helpful information to get you started thinking about the college search.
  • If you have a conflict (i.e. ACT prep class, athletics, or club event) please email Ms. Denz ASAP. Parents/guardians are more than welcome to still attend without their student if needed.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out! - Ms. Denz ([email protected]))

Softball Meeting

There will be an informational parent meeting for those interested in softball on Tuesday, February 6th at 7 pm in the cafeteria.

Parent Events

Father-Daughter Dinner Dance

Nearly 200 guests attended Friday night's Sneaker Ball in Elmwood Park, including President Curley and her father!   Guests enjoyed a delicious meal followed by a dessert/candy bar, played Heads or Tails and mingled.  Blazers and their dads/guardians then hit the dance floor and celebrated this special evening together, in sneakers!  Guests took a personalized, framed photo strip (many photo strips!) home to remember the fun. It was once again, a great night to be a Blazer.  Thank you to everyone who attended and recognized this special father/daughter relationship.  Please stay tuned for the photo gallery link and survey.

A special thank you to:

Mothers Club - donated candy and volunteered at the event

Fathers Club President, Matt Guardiola, for kicking off the night with heartfelt opening remarks!

Mrs. Maria Trujillo - making the balloon displays

Mrs. Angelina Alongi - making a decorated cookie for each guest

And many families for sponsoring this event!

We've kicked off our Spring Raffle!

Please talk with your daughter - raffle packets went home at Friday's assembly. You will find letters to both parents and Blazers about this year's raffle requirements. This is our last mandatory all-school fundraiser for the year.

New this year - EVERY FRIDAY in February, we will select a raffle ticket from those that students have already turned in and the lucky Blazer who sold it will win a $50 gift card. Please turn in sold tickets asap!

If you have any questions, please contact Kelly Richard, Director of Special Events. Thank you for your support!

Block 3 Attendance Update from Dean

The work of empowering and educating women to be leaders of knowledge, strength and faith is predicated upon regular and consistent student attendance and we are grateful for your partnership with regards to this priority. Please read the following carefully as there are important updates to the Attendance Policies for Block 3 of the 2023-2024 School Year. Click here to read the letter.

IB Internal Assessments are well underway during the third block. Students will be completing orals, essays, lab reports, investigations, explorations, and case studies in each of their IB classes. These assessments comprise between 20-30% of students' overall IB grades in each course. Unlike the May exams, the internal coursework is completely controlled by the student with the guidance of their teachers. Students choose their own topics and work on them independently over the course of several weeks. The IA's are graded by the teachers and then submitted to IB examiners for final moderation and scoring. We wish our IB seniors and juniors much success with these important components.

Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance Applications are now available for the 2024-2025 school year. The applications are available here. The deadline for completing the application is March 3, 2024.

IF YOU RECEIVED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE THIS YEAR, YOU MUST SUBMIT AN APPLICATION

AGAIN TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR AN AWARD FOR 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR.
