Welcome to the Cristo Rey Family
We have a lot to celebrate and be thankful for at Holy Family Cristo Rey! Last week we welcomed two new staff members to the school, and the past six weeks, two of our wonderful teachers have welcomed babies into their families!
  • Rylan Gray (right) is one of our newest members to the Student Recruitment and Community Engagement team. Mr. Gray will serve as the Alumni Success Coordinator. Mr. Gray is no stranger to HFCR as he was an intern in Spring 2020. He will be responsible for supporting HFCR alumni in the capacity that creates support systems that promote college persistence. Mr. Gray is a Mobile native and a recent graduate of UAB where he obtained a degree in Communications.

  • Vincent Carr has joined HFCR as our new Custodian. He will work closely with Mr. Chris Biggs to ensure that our building remains clean and safe for our faculty, staff, and scholars, when they eventually return to campus.

  • Baby Billy Weekley (below left), son of Mrs. Kelly Weekley, was born on October 28 at 8:42 am, weighing 7 lbs 13 oz. Mom, dad, baby, and big sister Katherine are all thriving.

  • Ms. Elaina Pribyl and her husband welcomed baby boy Charles Francis Fracasso (below right) on Sunday, December 6. "Baby Diego" weighs 9.2 lbs, and mom and baby are both doing great.
Teacher & Staff Spotlights
Shout outs to our spectacular teachers and staff for the ways they are going above and beyond to support our scholars and each other during virtual learning! Here are quotes about one of our amazing teachers, as well one of our wonderful staff members, who were nominated by their fellow faculty members:
Mrs. Ashley Parks, who teaches Physical Science and Anatomy & Physiology: "Mrs. Parks shows tremendous leadership and a strong commitment to our scholars. She is always enthusiastic, even with a busy schedule, while at the same time holding our scholars accountable."

Mrs. Cheryl Matthews, who serves as our front office manager: "Mrs. Matthews goes above and beyond to help everyone who comes to her. She shows such patience, calmness, and consistent professionalism, even when things sometimes get crazy.
Tips & Strategies for Virtual Learning Success
Our social worker, Mrs. Thomas, has shared with scholars some tips and strategies for staying organized and properly managing time and stress during virtual learning so that they can be successful.

Parents, we encourage you to review these suggestions and help your scholars to utilize them as you monitor their progress.
