Naples UCC Family,
This Sunday at Naples UCC, we’ll go to outer space. Psalm 8 launches us in that direction, prompting the faithful to consider the God of the moon and stars. Part of what I appreciate so much about Psalm 8 is that is connects the God of outer space with the God who cares enough to know each one of us. The majesty of God’s personality is big enough for the stars and yet small enough to know who it is who is wrapped in a prayer shawl. I look forward to sharing more about this on Sunday in a sermon entitled “The God of Stars and Shawls.”
Today, know that you are not alone. The God of the moon and stars knows each hair atop your head. Just when you mumble underneath your breath nobody could ever understand what it is that I’m going through—remember that God does know. The God of the universe knows you by name.
Peace,
Pastor Mark
