It is safe for me to learn.
As fall begins to show her melancholy beauty here in the Northern Hemisphere, the trees are dotted with burnt gold color and there is a brand new hint of crispness in the air.
For me, all the sensory treats of early fall are reminders of "back to school" time, academia, and learning. There can be a giddiness that goes along with this time of year - a sense of possibility cast in a warm light.
Was school a happy time for you? Were you excited about growth and soaking up knowledge, or were there times in your early life (or even more recently) when you felt pressure to "hurry up and learn" or even be seen as perfect in a classroom setting?
This week's affirmation is a reminder that learning can be a fun and playful process. Think about gleeful kids racing together toward a school playground. Slides and swings and social play is learning (important learning) just as reading, writing and math are important classroom topics too.
How might it be safe for you to to channel the spirit of playful and lighthearted learning this fall? You can begin by simply working with the idea that it is safe for you to learn. That learning can be fun.
Sending you lots of love,
Aimee
