FORMATION & FELLOWSHIP

Calling all St. Andrew’s men! It’s time to celebrate the work the Men’s Fellowship group has done throughout the year with a happy hour at Smartmouth Brewery (1309 Raleigh Ave.). They will meet from 5:30-7 pm on Wednesday, May 14 and enjoy time of fellowship with one another! St. Andrews will supply the pizzas and make sure the bartenders do not eat them this time! If you are new to St. Andrew’s, this is a great opportunity to meet the group. Contact George Pegram with questions.

Our next Quarterly Ministry Night will be on Monday, May 12 beginning at 6 p.m. in White Hall. We’ll start off with a welcome and light supper, and then the various parish committees will break out for discussion and planning.

Women of the Way will meet for the last time before a summer break on Tuesday, May 20 at 6 pm in White Hall. They will be discussing Orbital by Savannah Harvey, winner of the Booker Prize in 2024.

Annual Report: Thanks to everyone who came out for last Sunday's Annual Meeting and Parish Breakfast! In case you missed it, you can read the Annual Report here.

Give some blood, have a nosh, socialize with other heroes – you will be a member of a very special group. Please visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter GHENT to make an appointment. But you can always just drop in!

We are looking for Coffee Hour Hosts: We have many available dates for coffee hour hosts and we need to fill those slots! We have a new online sign-up sheet through Sign-Up Genius that we hope is easy for everyone to use. There is also a sign-up sheet outside of White Hall on Sundays. Can you help? Sign-up to host Coffee Hour here.

The Winter Shelter Friendship Dinner has been scheduled Wednesday, May 21 at 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church (820 Colonial Ave). This is a special evening for winter shelter volunteers and guests to reunite and celebrate the friendships we've built. Please see the attached invitation for details.

The Church Mouse would love to receive those gently used or new items that you no longer need or never used. This is a good time of the year to do a little cleaning as you pull out summer decorations or you replace your winter clothes with summer clothes. Just as a reminder, we take accessories, cooking, dining, and serving items, books, puzzles, and games. If you have used Christmas cards that you no longer want, we would love to turn them into something useful and beautiful. If you have bits and pieces of unused Christmas cards, we will take those also. And, as always, come visit. You never know what treasure you will find!

Easter Vigil Recap: Over 150 people gathered for the second annual Norfolk collaborative Easter Vigil at Good Shepherd! We lit the Paschal fire; we rocked the house with joyful music. There was no missing the arrival of Easter-- we marked its arrival with confetti canons, noisemakers, lights and dancing. Enjoy the Vigil video here: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1AKqFxY1mu/
