Dear Cardinal O'Hara Family,
This time of year is full of excitement and fanfare. O’Hara is always buzzing with activities and students sharing in the JOY of our accomplishments.
A few highlights of the past week:
The Academic Honors Convocation took place on Wednesday, May 1st at 7:00 in the auditorium. This program honors our top 10% in each of the classes, the Mu Alpha Theta members and the NHS officers. The guest speaker was a 1983 graduate of Cardinal O’Hara, Mrs. Lorranie Ranalli. Ms. Ranalli congratulated and recognized all of the God given talent in the room. She encouraged the students to dream big and follow their dreams to make them a reality. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!
Congratulations to Abigail Loyson for receiving a scholarship from the Association of Catholic Teachers Association for her 10th grade tuition.
AP testing will be taking place May 6th thru May 16
. All AP students must take the test. The cost of the test is $94 dollars per exam.
AP students may dress comfortably
for the exams. Please report a half hour before testing time to the testing room.
Congratulations to our Band students and Mr. Ramirez for always being supportive at all of the events at COHS. Our Concert Band performed last Friday 4/26 at Temple University's Festival of Winds. The Color Guard will be traveling to Wildwood for the Tournament Indoor Association Atlantic Coast Championship. They will be away all day Friday, May 3rd. Thanks for all that you do.
Gavin Lewis & Arnez Kinard attended Leadership Delaware County, a 3-day leadership program at Neumann University sponsored by the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, Delaware County Workforce Development Board and Youth Counsel. Gavin & Arnez had the opportunity to participate in interactive sessions with leaders from different sectors to learn from and speak with each. At the conclusion of the event, Gavin & Arnez presented an Ignite Presentation with their group on leadership.
In addition, both Gavin & Arnez received a $2,000 scholarship to Neumann University as a result of their participation in Leadership Delco
if they apply and are accepted to Neumann
Congrats to both!
Please encourage your child to finish strong. The year is not over until that final exam is complete and they are passing all academic subjects. I hope to have the exam and end of the year schedule ready to be published next week. Until then, enjoy the sunshine and bring your books outdoors to study.
Peace and Prayers,
Mrs. Diane Casey
