There is still time to make your gift to the O’Hara Fund for this year!

As you know, we had a very successful Day of Giving – thank you to everyone who participated - but

we still need another $75,000 by June 30th to meet our overall O’Hara Fund goal for this year.

Remember, O'Hara Fund gifts directly impact students by providing:

Much needed financial aid

Cutting-edge technology in the classrooms

Support for our athletics and arts programs

Life-changing retreats

Experiences and friendships to last a lifetime!

Your generosity is the key!

Your gift will make all the difference!

Use the QR code below or go to cohs.com to make your gift before June 30th.

Cardinal O'Hara Theater is proud to announce that their Fall production will be Elf!

Our students (from left to right) Julia Wilson, Claire Hannigan, and Sam Schugsta sang for the Blessing and Dedication of St. Joseph Place Senior Housing. In attendance was Archbishop Perez. We are so proud of our senior Vocal and Choir students and we wish them good luck in their future endeavors.

The Cardinal O'Hara choir had the privilege of singing the National Anthem at the Catholic Charities Appeal Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park. Special thanks to Ms. Stillman, an English teacher at O'Hara, who directed the choir. Congratulations on their wonderful performance!

Welcome to the O'Hara Team!

My Name is Geri and I've worked in higher education for the past 10 years. I live in Delaware County with my husband of 22 years and our children, along with our cane corso. I will be joining COHS as a Behavioral Support Specialist for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. I look forward to working with you all and am excited to be a part of the COHS team.

My name is Bonnie Wadsworth, B.S., and I was previously employed as a Family Counselor. I worked in the mental health field for over five years, and am excited to work full time time in an educational setting. I love spending time outdoors with my dog when I have free time.

Seniors

There's always a final chapter to every book.

As you approach this "final chapter" of high school, there are a few things to remember.....

  1. Your final transcript will be sent once report cards are complete and the transcripts have been uploaded to PowerSchool.
  2. If you receive a reminder from the college/school you will attend, it is only protocol for them. Sending your final transcript is part of the Guidance Office's year-end tasks, but cannot be done until grades are final.
  3. This year your transcript will be sent electronically through Naviance. This means that your college/school will receive it quickly and accurately. You will receive an email confirming that your transcript was sent.

*** Please remember that you completed a Google Form (2023 Senior Survey Form) indicating what school you are attending in the fall. This was so we could send the transcript to the correct location.  FACTS accounts must be paid in full for final transcripts to be released. Please reach out to Ms. Denise Todd for questions about tuition balances.

Congratulations and Best Wishes to the Class of 2023!

Rising Seniors (Current Juniors)

Now is the time to ask two teachers for a letter of recommendation. You need to ask one junior year teacher of an academic subject: Math, Science, English, History, or Foreign Language, AND one teacher of any subject area. To request the letter of recommendation:

  1. First, you must ask the teacher in person if he/she is willing to write your recommendation.
  2. Second, complete your Naviance Profile.
  3. Third, login to your Naviance account: Click on "Colleges I'm Thinking About;" scroll down the page and on the left side and click on "Letters of Recommendation." Follow the directions.

If you request them before the end of the school year, the teachers will have plenty of time to write the letters over the summer. Remember that when school begins in September, the teachers are VERY BUSY and may not have time to write your letter. DON'T PROCRASTINATE! If you have any questions, please contact your counselor or visit the Guidance Office page on the website for more information.

Important Information

Host Families Needed

We are excited to welcome students from China to O'Hara this fall as part of Nacel Open Door. These F1 visa students are very excited to be introduced to an American family who they will live with while they are here to study at Cardinal O'Hara. These students speak English, have travel health insurance, and bring their own spending money for personal expenses. Host families provide room and board and receive a monthly hosting stipend to help offset expenses. Currently, we have 2 Chinese boys (seniors) that have applied for the 2023-2024 school year. Perhaps you have two extra rooms, as hosting two students is always an option. Maybe you have a close friend or neighbor who might also like to experience hosting a student. If you are willing to consider opening your heart and your home to one of these students, or would like more information, please contact Hope Egolf at 610-850-1398, or email. [email protected]

Aramark New Policy-
As of Feb 10, Aramark will be enforcing the policy of $5.00 negative balance. This means if a student doesn’t have enough money on their account for lunch, they can spend up to $5.00 to eat that day. However it needs to be paid the next day and they cannot eat again until it is paid. Also the $5.00 should be spent on food and drink, not snacks and cookies.

School Nurse
Please have your student take their allergy medication at home. The nurse does not have an allergy medication order.

JUNIOR PARENTS. The Pa state required physical record is past due. Email this to [email protected] or your student can bring it to the Health Office. An updated shot record is to be included.
Please assess your student's health in the morning before leaving for the school day. If your student was not feeling well before going to bed please be sure he/she is feeling completely well before making the decision to come to school. This is most important for keeping everyone healthy at Cardinal O'Hara.
