The holiday season has always been a critical time for independent retailers. This year it’s even more important and more difficult to navigate as retailers need to be prepared to adapt their staffing, marketing and selling tactics. Join Small Business Majority and Retail Smart Guys as we walk you through what the most successful retailers are doing to navigate this tricky time and how to set yourself up for a fantastic holiday season.

With the coronavirus pandemic changing every aspect of our lives, it’s only natural that the ways in which people purchase products and services also need some adjusting. And with the upcoming holiday season fast-approaching, small business owners must go where the consumer is: online. To view the checklist, click here.

Pearl Harbor Veterans to Be Honored in “Eye of Diablo” Beacon-Lighting Ceremony on December 7
This December 7th, National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, three local survivors of World War II’s “Day of Infamy”—the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941—will share their stories as part of a virtual ceremony filmed primarily atop Mount Diablo. In a 45-minute video, three local East Bay survivors of the Pearl Harbor attack will recount their experiences that fateful day. Save Mount Diablo’s Executive Director Ted Clement noted, “This year it is especially important that we come together as a nation to honor National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day and those who served. Reflecting on that day and the aftermath reminds us of the strength of our nation when we come together even amidst great adversity. Our December 7th virtual event will enable more people to come together on this important day.” To read article in its entirety, click here.
