We as a community could not have been any prouder last Friday night as our QA choir led the National Anthem at the Atlanta Braves game.
Almost 550 members of our school cheered as
students took the field and WOW’ed a sold out crowd. We express our deepest appreciation to Deacon Dave Thomasberger for his leadership and directing the choir and Mrs. Melissa Harrison for coordinating everything from tickets to the red logoed shirts for this special occasion. I hope those who were present as well as those watching from afar experienced how special our QA students and community are!
is part of the tagline adopted last year. I would ask that you make sure you mark your calendars and save the date for the 20th anniversary celebration on September 7th. We welcome Bishop Konzen who will be the principal celebrant and welcome back Msgr. Frank McNamee who will concelebrate with Msgr. Peter Rau.
While we had hoped all prior principals would attend; however, we have not been able to confirm Sr. Patricia Clune. To focus our efforts on the Mass and festivities following, we have cancelled the Friday evening event scheduled for September 6
We welcome parents to curriculum night this week. On Tuesday, grades 1, 2, 4, and 5 will have the opportunity to visit with teachers during two 30-minute sessions. This evening is planned for parents to get acquainted with their child's classroom procedures. The first session is 6:30pm-7:00pm; the second session from 7:15pm-7:45pm. Thursday, the evening for grades 7 and 8 begins at 6:30pm. Grade 7 parents will meet in the Media Center and grade 8 parents in the Music Room. Teachers will rotate between the two locations. Mrs. McDaniel will be present on both evenings with a table set up for you to review the Theology of the Body program.
I have been asked to clarify for parents the PE sweatshirt requirement for this year. When a student has PE, the PE sweatshirt should be worn if there is a need to wear something for warmth. As this is a change from last year, students should “try” to wear the PE sweatshirt on PE days (if needed). Once the winter uniform starts, the PE sweatshirt will be required on PE days. The only exception is for the 8
grade where it is a privilege to wear their special 8
Our all school Masses have been so beautiful. There will be a HSA coffee following our Mass on Friday, August 23rd. Members of the QA administrative team hope to see you there.
I am grateful for a wonderful beginning of our school year and express my appreciation to our parents for such a smooth transition.
