Afterwards enhanced Coffee Hour and Egg Hunt
St. Thomas offers two Easter Egg Hunts (weather permitting) that begin immediately after the Easter service:
- Toddlers through second graders will meet on the Heathcote Hall Lawn.
- The third, fourth and fifth graders will meet at the labyrinth.
- Paper gift bags for eggs will be passed out to the children at the start of each hunt.
- All parents should supervise their own children closely to ensure that everyone hunts fairly and safely. Caution your kids about the cars!
Help Keep the Egg Hunts Safe and Fair: Again, parents should actively help supervise this endeavor. While there are about six hundred eggs, and the children are held in their groups to begin the hunt together, the eggs go quickly, so we encourage families to make their way outside right after the service. If your child already has a lot of eggs, encourage them to share, or help another child hunt. (There is a basket of a few extra eggs set aside in Heathcote Hall, just in case anyone misses out entirely.)
Help us Recycle the Eggs: St. Thomas recycles the plastic eggs from year to year, so after the hunt, please ask your kids to empty their candy into their bags, and put the plastic eggs into the large basket in Heathcote Hall.
Food Allergies: We seek to avoid nuts in the candies we use. But if your child has a food allergy, you may want to check the ingredients listed on the packaging that you will find in a marked zip bag, near the egg recycling basket.
In case of bad weather: Mother Carol will make an announcement during the service if the Egg Hunts must be postponed due to inclement weather.
Happy Easter and a special thank you to all of those folks who helped make this year's Egg Hunts possible, from stuffing to hiding to hunting!
