This Sunday, January 27, the Annual Meeting of St. Thomas Church will be held at 10:15 am. There will only be a 9 am service that day. You should have received an e-mail with links to the materials for the annual meeting. Please contact us if you have not received it.
2018 and 2019 will be pivotal and significant years in the life of the congregation. It is important you hear our reports and information first-hand, as well as participate in the voting, conversations, and questions.

There will be Sunday school classes for children at 9 am. We plan to offer babysitting beginning at 8:45 am and a kids' brunch and supervised activities upstairs after church and through the meeting.

St. Thomas Book Club
It's time to pick up your copy of The Faithful Spy: Dietrich Bonhoeffer and the Plot to Kill Hitler, St. Thomas Book Club's first graphic novel, by John Hendrix, and join our group in the library on February 10 at 11:30 am to discuss Bonhoeffer's story of faith and sacrifice.  If you are prefer to read at a more leisurely pace, check out Tom Hanks' (yes, that Tom Hanks!), Uncommon Type: Some Stories, which we will discuss later this year.
Women's retreat:  Friday March 15th to Sunday March 17th
This year's women's retreat weekend is scheduled for Friday, March 15th to Sunday March 17th. We have invited the women of All Saints', Harrison to join us and i f past years are any indication, it will once again be a relaxing, refreshing, and renewing weekend away.

The retreat will be held at St. Marguerite's Retreat House which is part of the Community of St. John the Baptist, an Episcopal Women's Religious Order in Mendham, NJ.  We have reserved the entire retreat house, so we will be the only group there for the weekend. They have space  for 27 people,  so rsvp and reserve your spot now!  You can read more about the community and the retreat house at their website.  All of the bedrooms are simple, individual rooms with shared bathrooms.  Home-cooked meals are provided but we are welcome to bring snacks or other items to meet specialized dietary requirements.

We will plan on arriving in time for dinner on Friday night and leaving after worship on Sunday morning.  We can carpool...arrangements for travel will be made once we know who is planning on attending and who can drive, but we will get everyone there!

The cost for the weekend is 200.00 per person and includes lodging and all meals.  If that is financially difficult for you, please let either Carol or Tami know....there is some scholarship money available.  Checks can be made out to St. Thomas with "women's retreat" written in the memo.

The Reverend Chris Jones  will be returning as our facilitator.

Any questions?  Contact Carol or Tami.
Men's retreat
The men's group of Saint Thomas will be going on retreat at Holy Cross Monastery over the weekend of April 26, 27 & 28 2019. This retreat is open to all men, and the cost for the weekend is $200/person

We follow the Order of worship schedule - no one is required to attend the services but I find them to be an important part of my time while on retreat. We have scheduled time set aside for our discussion topic that is moderated by one of the brothers, but we usually continue our discussion at other times as well on our own. There is time for quiet reflection as well as time to get outside and explore the property surrounding the Monastery. Please consider joining us as we explore our spiritual life journey together.
