For our first Adult Education series back on Sunday mornings, we welcome Pastor Mike Miller to lead a three-part class on the PC(USA)’s Matthew 25 initiative. As a Matthew 25 church, driven by our Mission Committee, we are called to work toward building congregational vitality, dismantling structural racism, and eradicating systemic poverty. As an ordained Presbyterian Minister leading a church plant on the south side of Chicago (, Pastor Mike is facing each of these challenges head-on. During this series you’ll learn how we can navigate these issues theologically, biblically, and in turn, “grow in your life with Jesus Christ.”

Distinguish Preacher Sunday 

Dr. Cleo LaRue

As our 2021 Distinguished Preacher, we look forward to welcoming Dr. Cleo LaRue, Professor of Homiletics at Princeton Theological Seminary. Dr. LaRue specializes in the theory and method of African American preaching and worship. An ordained minister in the National Baptist Convention of America, LaRue is the former pastor of two churches in Texas. He is a frequent speaker at churches, seminaries, and conferences throughout the country and is a member of the Academy of Homiletics.

  • Sunday, September 12: Fall Sunday School begins for preschool through 5th grade. Join us for a "Meet and Greet" with Sunday School staff at 10:15 a.m. downstairs. Welcome back as we Celebrate Wonder, a curriculum that honors the spiritual life of children. Register here.

Confirmation Class – Continued from Spring
Confirmation class will resume for those 9th graders who are finishing Confirmation (after having started last spring as 8th graders). There will be a Confirmation Information Meeting for these 9th grade students and their parents on Sunday, September 12 from 10:00-10:30 a.m. Confirmation then resumes on Sunday, September 19 at 10:30 a.m. and runs each week until Confirmation Sunday, November 7.
