Palm Sunday

Pancake Brunch

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast after Palm Sunday services! WF high school students and leaders invite you to come hungry and support their summer mission trip to Imperial, PA. Free-will donations are welcome. The menu is pancakes, gluten-free waffles, sausage, bacon, and fruit.

Easter Egg Hunt

During the Pancake Brunch, children in 5th grade and under are invited to participate in our annual Easter Egg Hunt in the Courtyard. Bring a basket or bucket for collecting eggs.

Lent: I Shall Not Want

"Living Water"

 John 4:4-26

Lent is a season of turning from the ways of the world, and turning back to God. During this season, we focus our faith and follow Jesus from the wilderness to the cross. Throughout this sermon series, from Ash Wednesday to Holy Week, we will draw encouragement from David’s words in Psalm 23, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” With an emphasis on spiritual renewal, we prepare our hearts to celebrate our Risen Lord on Easter.

Adult Education

“They were astounded and amazed:” 

The Mystery of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark

Sundays through April 2 at 10:30 a.m.

Led by Dr. David Lauber

When Jesus taught, the people were astounded. And when he healed and drove out demons, they were amazed. Throughout the Gospel of Mark, we encounter the teachings and miracles of Jesus. This Lenten study will explore and reflect on Mark’s depiction of Jesus. The aim of the class is to reflect together on the astounding mystery of the Incarnation – Jesus Christ, the Son of God, crucified and resurrected.

Easter Lilies

Lilies will adorn our chancel for Easter and be delivered to our homebound parishioners and closest neighbors. To dedicate Easter lilies in honor or memory of a loved one, please submit a form no later than Friday, March 31.

Your dedication will be printed in the Easter bulletin. You may pick up your Easter lily following the last service on Easter, or during office hours the week after Easter.

An online form is available at firstpreswheaton.org/Lilies. Printed forms are available in the office and the Rotunda.

Introducing Blessed Aprons

First Pres Wheaton is looking for volunteers who have a passion for hospitality, to periodically serve on a team for events sponsored by the staff or church. Service needs for this team could include preparing food for small/large groups, serving catered food to a gathering, decorating for an event, and more.  

If you want to get involved with church activities and enjoy cooking, or other hospitality tasks, this is the team for you! Kim Van Oss has graciously offered to lead this new group, so contact Kim if you have questions or are interested in joining this team.

Exodus Celebration of Hope

Thursday, April 13

You’re invited to a hope-filled evening in support of welcoming refugees! On April 13, join with fellow church members at The Waterford in Elmhurst for Celebration of Hope. Our friends at Exodus World Service will share meaningful stories of refugees welcomed by volunteers. And you’ll have an opportunity to partner with Exodus to help refugees flourish! Outreach 50 Year Celebration

We are a church who values Christ’s call to love and serve our neighbors. Outreach, a longstanding ministry partner, is celebrating 50 years of working alongside the local church to transform lives in our community.

On April 22, Outreach invites you to join the celebration. Festivities include a family friendly 5K Run, Walk, and Wheel taking place in Wheaton and a Celebration Dinner followed by an evening of worship with Kari Jobe at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington. All ticket sales benefit Outreach’s youth development, family stabilization, transitional housing, and counseling services.
