We pray for...
  • civil discourse grounded in respect;
  • refugees, immigrants and those without a home.
  • The search for a new bishop and rector: Merciful God giver of every good gift: Look graciously on your Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a bishop for this Diocese and a rector for this parish, that we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Community Dinner TOMORROW!
There is no signup sheet for this month's Community Meal. So we are guessing on how many and "Y'all come" as folks used to say. The menu is pork ribs from the recipe at Harold's Corral in Cave Creek. Harold's was a bar/restaurant in Cave Creek which was well known for about 40 years. Also a salad, beef & Ruth's beans, and apple pie. Country Cooking in the western style and I'm looking forward to it. Plan to come enjoy dinner with us at 6pm tomorrow - Friday, June 22nd.
EfM Graduation - Congrats Cindy, Carol, Meghan, Mary & Christina!
Congratulations to Cindy Brouwer, Carol Forker, Mary Heldenbrand, Christina Priddy, and Meghan Skillen who have completed four years of Education for Ministry (EfM), studying the Old and New Testaments, church history, and theology. For all students in EfM, these years are also marked by sharing our lives in community, reflecting on living out our beliefs in our daily lives, and purposefully seeking where God is calling us to ministry. They will be presented their certificates of completion at the 9:30 am service on Sunday June 24th.
Church office closed until July 9th
The church office will be closed for the next two weeks because Christy is heading out of town. If you have a pastoral emergency or need immediate assistance, please contact Fr. Harry. Otherwise the office will re-open July 9th.
Habitat Dedication Saturday!
Thanks to the St. Stephen's volunteers, along with other parishes in the Episcopal Habitat Coalition of Central Arizona , Abdullahi Shire and Sudi Warsame and their three children will have their new house dedicated at 9:00 AM on Saturday, 23 June . 9 volunteers worked over three Saturdays to frame, block, and paint this house. Anyone from St. Stephen's who wishes to bless this new home and to be blessed by it in return is welcome to attend this joyful meeting.
The house we have built is at 1937 E Don Carlos in Tempe, near McClintock and Apache.
Family Camp @ Chapel Rock
Unplug and Reconnect - For Families with Children and Youth of All Ages July 5-8 at Chapel Rock

It is challenging in this over-programmed, screen-filled culture to take the time out to be present to the people in our families. Family Camp is an opportunity to unplug from the busyness of daily life and reconnect with your children and with the God who made you a family.

Experience prayer, music, free time exploring the beauty of Prescott, and old-fashioned camp fun, like arts and crafts, a campfire, the ropes course, and games. Invest in your family, and come join us! Fees begin at $300 per family of two and include lodging and all meals.
For more information or to register, please go to: and click on Family Camp or call (602) 254-0976 or email

Volunteers Wanted!
The Balsz Elementary School District, which includes St. Stephen's, is seeking volunteers for it Restorative Justice Center. Arthur Montoya, the center's director, will train volunteers to serve as mediators in the Balsz schools. The mediators will spend 3-4 hours per week helping students to be held accountable for their actions and help them to learn to restore relationships with fellow students, teachers, and the community peacefully. Please contact Vic Grace at 602.463.8044 if you wish to help Arthur continue his efforts to keep all students working together in our local schools. He will notify you when the one day training will be conducted.
Summer Pictures!
Each summer we include pictures of your adventures in our weekly highlights!
Send in your pictures this summer so we can see what folks in our community are up to outside of Saturday nights or Sunday mornings!
Happy Summer and safe travels to all!

We aspire to be an accepting community in which people will know Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, spiritual formation and fellowship. We hope our community will encourage all to use their God given gifts to serve others in the name of Christ.
