COMMUNION CLASS
On Sunday November 10 after the 10:00 am service, children of all ages are invited to join Tami for a hands-on, age-appropriate session on the Holy Eucharist. It is the teaching of the Episcopal church that all baptized Christians, no matter what their ages, may receive communion. First communion is not a sacrament in our tradition; infants will often receive communion for the first time on their baptismal day. However, some parent still wish their children to wait for a period of time before receiving the sacrament. Whether your children have been receiving for years or if they have not yet received but are interested in doing so, this will be an opportunity for them to learn what it's all about, ask questions, get up close to the altar and handle everything, and learn great words like ciborium, sacristy, chasuble and more! We will have a light lunch together and plan on the class running from 11:30 to 1:00. Please RSVP to Tami at associatestthomas@gmail.com so she knows how many kids to plan on. If you have questions, please reach out to her as well.
