This workshop will go into the first step of building your startup. You have an idea, so what's next? We a slew of founders that will take you through the critical step of value proposition.
You'll be learning from actual founders of startups as they take you through exercises to help you bring your idea to life. Our fellowship workshops follow a set curriculum that will take you through the entire journey of building a startup, so you don't want to miss out. Johnson & Johnson Innovation invites groundbreakers to submit ideas aimed at reducing the burden and disability caused by serious neuropsychiatric, neurological and neurodegenerative diseases in the NYC Innovation QuickFire Challenge on Neuroscience.
The groundbreaker(s) with the best idea(s) will receive up to $25,000 in grant funding; one year of residency at JLABS @ NYC - with the use of a bench, workstation and access to the JLABS @ NYC community; and mentorship from experts at the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies.
The application is due on February 12, 2021.

Apply for this one year post-baccalaureate fellowship for exceptional early-career engineers with an interest in medical technology for low-resource settings.
Work as part of a team of passionate, talented young engineers interested in careers at the intersection of technology development and global health. Develop, refine, and evaluate low-cost, high performance health technologies for low-resource settings. Work closely with engineering visionaries: AAAS-Lemelson Invention Ambassador Dr. Maria Oden, and 2016 MacArthur Fellow, Dr. Rebecca Richards-Kortum.
The fellowship is open to graduating seniors and recent graduates who have received an engineering bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Recent graduates may have up to 3 years of experience or a masters degree and up to 1 year experience. The deadline for this application is February 15, 2021.

The Richards Barrentine Values and Ventures Competition is one of the nation’s premier undergraduate business competitions. The competition boasts distinguished judges and mentors from among seasoned entrepreneurs, investment professionals, CEO’s and others. Throughout the two-day event, students have opportunities to network with other like-minded students, faculty from across the globe and successful entrepreneurs and business professionals.
This international competition epitomizes the Neeley School’s mission – to develop ethical leaders with a global perspective who help shape the business environment – by encouraging student entrepreneurs to develop for-profit enterprises that impact society in meaningful ways. The participants truly have a head for business and heart for humanity. This year will we award over $200,000 in cash awards, including a $100,000 Grand Prize.
The deadline to apply is February 22, 2021.

The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) and VentureWell have come together to support and expand the Design by Biomedical Undergraduate Teams (DEBUT) challenge, a competition that recognizes undergraduate excellence in biomedical design and innovation.
DEBUT challenges teams of students in undergraduate biomedical education to solve real-world problems in healthcare. Prizes of up to $20,000 will be awarded.
Applications are due June 1, 2021.

Goodie Nation has partnered with Google For Startups to distribute $5 million in non-dilutive financial capital to 75+ of the most promising Black-led startups from across the U.S. through the Google for Startups Black Founders Fund.
In addition to non-dilutive capital, recipients of the fund will receive wrap-around support from both Goodie Nation and Google For Startups in the form of network connections, high-value content, and marketing opportunities to help them advance their companies. Applications are accepted year-round, and funds are distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

TiE University has opened registration for the 2021 Global Business Hackathon, a global event that aims to empower college and university students to participate to solve business problems for global corporations.
Students are able to register for FREE and choose the track to participate in. Students are encouraged to register early and no later than February 14, 2021 so they are more likely to get their first choice track. Each TiE chapter will then assign students to local coaches and global mentors during February. Entrepreneurship webinars and technical bootcamps will be hosted from March 1- 7, 2021 to train and improve understanding of the problem, environment and solutions available.
An impartial jury will then pick the 30 best teams to present their business solutions during the virtual hackathon being held on March 12 -14, 2021. The winning team will receive cash prizes, internship opportunities and free workshops to build their resume and entrepreneurial goals.

This event is part of the Bench2Market Talks series which was created to provide commercialization guidance to the university research community.The series covers topics to help bring your technology from the lab to commercial success and explore market opportunities surrounding entrepreneurial and innovative ideas.

As a participant in the Academy, you will learn the business model canvas, evidence based entrepreneurship, and customer discovery. The format includes two hours of interactive learning (10 am - 12 pm), two hours of field work (12 pm - 2 pm), and two hours of coaching and feedback (2 pm - 4 pm). The application deadline is Friday, February 12 at 11:30 pm.
