This hackathon encourages teams comprised of Georgia Tech and/or Emory students to develop solutions for multiple COVID-19-related problems. Three winning teams will each receive a  $10,000 cash prize , the opportunity to take their solution to market through Georgia Tech’s CREATE-X Startup Launch accelerator, and other potential investment opportunities.

Funding Opportunities
"The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) is urgently soliciting proposals for RADx, a fast-track technology development program for at-home and point-of-care testing innovations, in response to COVID-19. Innovators and inventors with promising rapid testing solutions can receive up to $500 million to help fund product development , along with coaching from technical, business, and manufacturing experts to support their journey to market."

Applications at any stage of readiness will be considered.

Undergraduate student teams have the opportunity to work on innovative solutions to unmet health and clinical problems and win up to $100,000 prizes for 2020. There are 6 prizes that can be won:
  • DEBUT Challenge prizes:
  • 1st Prize: The Steven H. Krosnick Prize: $20,000
  • 2nd Prize: $15,000
  • 3rd Prize: $10,000
  • HIV/AIDS Prize: $15,000 (with funds from the NIH Office of AIDS Research)
  • The Healthcare Technologies for Low-Resource Settings Prize: $15,000 (with funds from the National Institute of Minority and Health Disparities)

Resources & Funding Opportunities
Apply for grants and raise capital through crowdfunding. Have an idea or company that needs funding, coaching, or connections? Then looked no further than the iFundWomen where they have a ton of resources at your fingertips.

Watch the replay of the live Ask Me Anything session with serial entrepreneur, Laila Partridge, interviewing Director of SBIR Center of Excellence , Stacy Swider, on how to apply for an SBIR grant. This session is about how to find the right grant and how to apply.

This tool has been created to help college students affected by COVID-19 final resources. While it is located in Georgia, it has nationally-available resources. Resources are available for food, healthcare, connectivity, etc.

The Spanx by Sara Blakely Foundation has donated $5 million and has teamed up with GlobalGiving to support female entrepreneurs during the COVID-19 pandemic. MasterClass has also provided an annual access to all classes.

To be eligible the startup " must be in the Early Stage, Seed, or Seed+ funding stage; at least one female or minority founder/cofounder, pre or post revenue and more. " The business that places first receives an angel investment of $50,000 and the opportunity to present at TiECON Atlanta 2020.

Take advantage of a free domain from mailchimp that's free for 5 years (a $25 discount per year). You have to publish the website with Mailchimp within the next month and keep it active. Read all the fine print before signing up.
