Award-Winning Firearms Detection Canine Solution

Deployed for Healthcare Client

MSA Security®, an Allied Universal® Company, recently landed its second contract with Dignity Health to provide Firearms Detection Canine (FDC) services at Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, California.

This solution is deployed full-time to reduce the threat of potential violence and thefts in the facility and around the perimeter. MSA Security received a 2022 “ASTORS” Homeland Security Gold Award for its Firearms Detection Canine (FDC) solution, which has identified approximately 12,000 firearms in retail and mall environments since inception.

In July 2022, MSA Security won its first contract with Dignity Health to provide Explosive Detection Canine (EDC) services at St. John's Hospital in Oxnard, California.

"The purpose is to keep crime off property, and the canine team presents an effective visual deterrent," said MSA Security CEO Glen Kucera. "The solution is working great at St. Johns and is proving effective in improving overall patient and staff satisfaction."

These two wins position MSA Security favorably within Dignity Health and the healthcare security market. The team is also seeking growth opportunities in the education and sports markets.
