Amethyst Acres Equine Center
📍Buchanan, VA

Amethyst Acres Equine Center is located in Southwest Virginia, 30 minutes from the Lexington Virginia Horse Center. Owners Mark & Deb Burke breed Straight Egyptian Arabian horses from the Thee Desperado and Mishaal HP bloodlines and offer Newcomer Learning Days and Private Tours. It is also home to the Straight Egyptian Arabian stallion Magic Elixir.
Reading a Pedigree Whether you plan to breed, compete or enjoy Arabian horses for pleasure, a pedigree is a valuable tool that can help you understand more about your horse and their history. Each pedigree is a record that details the ancestors of a certain horse.
Mentally Prepare for Competitions While many Equestrians go through meticulous preparations for their competitions, one area is commonly overlooked. In between schooling and packing lists, well-planned schedules and organized tack trunks, mental preparedness for the rider can often fall to the wayside.
Two new Sweepstakes Jackpot Classes have been added to the 2021 Sport Horse Nationals
  • ABS Arabian AOTR Jackpot Sport Horse Under Saddle
  • ABS HA/AA AOTR Jackpot Sport Horse Under Saddle
