DEAD FOAL CREDIT VOUCER
If for any reason a mare does not produce a live foal or a foal dies within the first 30 days, you can be eligible to receive a Dead Foal Credit Voucher. You will need to submit a signed vet statement (on vet letterhead or official documentation), that identifies the mare by registration number, registered name, and the year she was to foal. If a foal is born, the date of foaling and date of death must also be provided.
Sweepstakes - AHA can then issue a Sweepstakes Dead Foal Credit Voucher for $400. If a foal is born but dies prior to December 31st of the year of foaling, a half Credit Voucher ($200) can be issued. This credit can be used for any future Sweepstakes Entry. It can also be used towards the initial enrollment of horses that are placed on a Deferred Billing Agreement. The Voucher cannot be used in lieu of a down payment but will be evenly distributed towards the number of payments indicated and granted on the Deferred Billing Agreement.
If a dead foal entry is on a Deferred Billing Agreement, the payments must be completed in full before consideration of a credit will be made.
Halter Futurity - If the foal was enrolled in the Halter Futurity Program, a Halter Futurity Dead Foal Credit Voucher can be issued. This credit must be used the consecutive year. Foals that are born and die after 30 days are not eligible for a Halter Futurity Credit Voucher.
A new In-Utero Foal Application and the Dead Foal Credit Voucher(s) must be submitted to the AHA office by December 31 of the year the mare was bred. Dead Foal Credits for both programs DO NOT automatically rollover to the next year or future years. A new In-Utero Application must be submitted in order for a Dead Foal Credit to be used.
