As part of the HRBT Expansion Project, construction crews will implement weekly lane closures, detours and traffic pacing on local roads, I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds and detours in some areas. Lane closures, detours and traffic pacing are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east/west between Mallory St and Hampton Shore from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.


Monday, December 15 through Thursday, December 18

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from Hampton Shore to Mallory St from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Wednesday, December 17 and Thursday, December 18

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east from Mallory St to Hampton Shore from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Single lane on closure I-64 east at HRBT from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from Patrol Rd to West Bay Ave from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • I-64 West Bay Ave off-ramp (Exit 274) closed. Detour with flagging in place from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.  CLICK HERE for the detour map.


Saturday, December 13

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from Patrol Rd to West Bay Ave from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m.


Sunday, December 14

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east from Willoughby Bay Bridge to 4th View St from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Multiple stoppages on I-64 east from Willoughby Bay Bridge to 4th View St (up to 20 minutes each) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from Patrol Rd to West Bay Ave from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Monday, December 15

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east from 1st View St to West Bay Ave from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Monday, December 15 and Tuesday, December 16

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east/west at Willoughby Bay Bridge from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • I-64 east 4th View off-ramp (Exit 273) closed. Detour in place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. CLICK HERE for detour.
  • Multiple stoppages on I-64 west from West Bay Ave to 4th View St (up to 20 minutes each) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east at West Bay Ave from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Wednesday, December 17

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east from Willoughby Bay Bridge to 4th View St from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • I-64 west 4th View on-ramp closed. Detour in place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. CLICK HERE for detour.


Wednesday, December 17 and Thursday, December 18

  • Single lane closure I-64 east at 4th View St from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Thursday, December 18 and Friday, December 19

  • I-64 east interstate closure at 4th View St. Traffic diverted at off ramp and returns to I-64 east at 4th View on ramp. CLICK HERE for detour.


Friday, December 19

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from West Bay Ave to 4th View St from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Motorists should expect delays or take alternate routes. As always, motorists are encouraged to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay careful attention while driving through construction zones.
