As part of the HRBT Expansion Project, construction crews will implement weekly lane closures, detours and traffic pacing on local roads, I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds and detours in some areas. Lane closures, detours and traffic pacing are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.

Friday, December 19

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east/west between Mallory St and Hampton Shore from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.


Saturday, December 20

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east/west between Hampton Shore and Mallory St from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m.


Sunday, December 21

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from Hampton Shore to Settlers Landing Rd from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Monday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 23

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from Hampton Shore to Mallory St from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east at HRBT from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Overnight Lane Closures and Detours

Friday, December 19

  • Multiple stoppages on I-64 west at Willoughby Bay Bridge (up to 20 mins) from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • I-64 east interstate closure at 4th View St. from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. Traffic diverted at off ramp and returns to I-64 east at 4th View on ramp. CLICK HERE for detour.
  • Single lane closure I-64 west from West Bay Ave to 4th View from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

 

Saturday, December 20

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from West Bay Ave to 4th View St from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m.


Sunday, December 21 and Tuesday, December 23

  • Single lane closures on I-64 east/west between Patrol Rd and West Bay Ave from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Continuous Lane Closures and Detours

Friday, December 19 through Friday, December 26 (24 hours per day)

Motorists should expect delays or take alternate routes. As always, motorists are encouraged to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay careful attention while driving through construction zones.
