As part of the HRBT Expansion Project, construction crews will implement weekly lane closures, detours and traffic pacing on local roads, I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds and detours in some areas. Lane closures, detours and traffic pacing are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east at HRBT from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m.

  • Single lane closure and multiple stoppages on I-64 east/west at HRBT from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Each stoppage may last up to 20 minutes.

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west at Willoughby Bay Bridge between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • Single lane closures on I-64 east/west between 1st View St and Patrol Rd from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Multiple stoppages on I-64 east may last up to 20 minutes each.


Monday, December 8

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east from 1st View St to West Bay Ave from 7 p.m. to 5 am.


Tuesday, December 9

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east from Willoughby Bay Bridge to Patrol Rd from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Monday, December 8 through Wednesday, December 9

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east at Willoughby Bay Bridge from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Single lane closure on I-64 west at Willoughby Bay Bridge from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Single lane closure on I-64 east/west at 4th View St from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Multiple stoppages on I-64 west at 4th View St from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Each stoppage may last up to 20 minutes.
  • Detour at I-64 west off-ramp to West Bay Ave (Exit 274) from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorists are advised to use the I-64 west off ramp to 4th View St (273). CLICK HERE for the detour map.


Monday, December 8 through Thursday, December 11

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from West Bay Ave to 4th View St from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Single lane closure on I-64 east from Oastes Creek to Patrol Rd from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Multiple stoppages on I-64 east from Oastes Creek to Patrol Rd from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Each stoppage may last up to 20 minutes.


Wednesday, December 10 and Thursday, December 11

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from Patrol Rd to West Bay Ave from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Friday, December 12

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east at 4th View Bridge from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Multiple stoppages on I-64 east at 4th View Bridge from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Each stoppage may last up to 20 minutes.
  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from Patrol Rd to 4th View St from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Motorists should expect delays or take alternate routes. As always, motorists are encouraged to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay careful attention while driving through construction zones.
