As part of the HRBT Expansion Project, construction crews will implement weekly lane closures, detours and traffic pacing on local roads, I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds and detours in some areas. Lane closures, detours and traffic pacing are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Motorists traveling on I-64 east and west near Mallory Street Bridge in Hampton should expect significant delays overnight beginning Friday, July 25 until Monday, July 28 from 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. CLICK HERE for detour map.

All eastbound traffic will be diverted off the interstate at the Mallory Street exit. Traffic will be brought back onto the interstate at the eastbound on-ramp to I-64. Local police will control the Mallory Street intersection.

Crews will conduct six intermittent westbound stoppages of up to 30 minutes each. Traffic will be released for travel between stoppages. The westbound off-ramp to Mallory Street will also be closed on these nights, and a signed detour will be in place.
