As part of the HRBT Expansion Project, construction crews will implement weekly lane closures, detours and traffic pacing on local roads, I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds and detours in some areas. Lane closures, detours and traffic pacing are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east/west between Patrol Rd and Willoughby Bay Bridge from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Multiple stoppages (up to 20 minutes each) on I-64 west from Patrol Rd to Willoughby Bay Bridge from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Multiple stoppages (up to 20 minutes each) on I-64 west from Mason Creek Rd to Willoughby Bay Bridge from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Single lane closure on I-64 east from 4th View St to Mason Creek Rd from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Multiple stoppages (up to 20 minutes each) on I-64 east at Mason Creek Rd from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, March 20 through Friday, March 27 (24 hours per day)

  • Temporary traffic signals installed on Bayville St including before I-64 east on-ramp.

Motorists should expect delays or take alternate routes. As always, motorists are encouraged to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay careful attention while driving through construction zones.
