As part of the HRBT Expansion Project, construction crews will implement weekly lane closures, detours and traffic pacing on local roads, I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds and detours in some areas. Lane closures, detours and traffic pacing are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.

HAMPTON

Overnight Lane Closures and Detours

Monday, March 9 through Thursday, March 12

  • Single lane closures on I-64 east/west at Mallory Street Bridge from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Friday, March 13

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from Hampton Shore to Mallory St from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east at HRBT from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Tuesday, March 10 through Thursday, March 12

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west at HRBT from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Saturday, March 7

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from Willoughby Bay Bridge to 4th View St from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m.


Sunday, March 8

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from Willoughby Bridge to 4th View St off-ramp from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Monday, March 9

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from Willoughby Bay Bridge to 4th View St from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Single lane closure on I-64 east at Willoughby Bay Bridge from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Monday, March 9 through Thursday, March 12

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east from West Bay Ave to Oastes Creek from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from Patrol Rd to Bay Ave from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Wednesday, March 11 and Friday, March 13

  • Single lane closure on I-64 east/west from Willoughby Bay Bridge to 4th View St from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.


Friday, March 13

  • Single lane closure on I-64 west from Patrol Rd to Bay Ave from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Single lane closure on I-64 east from Willoughby Bay Bridge to 4th View St from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Single lane closure on I-64 east from 4th View St to Patrol Rd from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.



Continuous Lane Closures and Detours

Friday, March 6 through Friday, March 13 (24 hours per day)

  • Temporary traffic signals installed on Bayville St including before I-64 east on-ramp.

All construction schedules are pending weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Please check the project website's Traffic Alerts page for updates.


Motorists should expect delays or take alternate routes. As always, motorists are encouraged to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay careful attention while driving through construction zones.
