As part of the HRBT Expansion Project, construction crews will implement weekly lane closures, detours and traffic pacing on local roads, I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds and detours in some areas. Lane closure, detours and traffic pacing are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.

NOTE: Check the project webpage often for the latest updates to the weekly lane closures.

Friday, May 24

• Flagging operation on Mallory Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tuesday, May 28 to Friday, May 31

• Flagging operation on Mallory Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Overnight Lane Closures and Detours

Wednesday, May 29 to Friday. May 31

• Multiple stoppages on I-64 west at Mallory Street from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Each stoppage may last up to 10 minutes.

• Single lane closure on I-64 east/west at HRBT from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• Single lane closure on I-64 east at Willoughby Bay Bridge from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Single lane closure on I-64 east at W. Bay Avenue to Oastes Creek from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Wednesday, May 29 to Thursday, May 30

• Single lane closure on I-64 east at Bayville Street to 13th View Street (Willoughby Spit) from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Thursday, May 30

• Flagging operation on 1st View Street from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, May 24 through Friday, May 31 (24 hours per day)

Motorists should expect delays or take alternate routes. As always, motorists are encouraged to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay careful attention while driving through the construction zone.
