As part of the HRBT Expansion Project, construction crews will implement weekly lane closures, detours and traffic pacing on local roads, I-64 and the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds and detours in some areas. Lane closures, detours and traffic pacing are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.


TRAFFIC ALERT: All lanes on I-64 east and west will be closed overnight starting as early as Thursday, Oct. 23, from 12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m. between 4th View Street in Norfolk and Bayville St./Ocean View (Exit 272). View the traffic alert and detour map at https://conta.cc/3KQikMh.

  • Multiple stoppages on I-64 west from West Bay Ave to West Evans St from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Each stoppage may last up to 20 minutes.
