September 6, 2013 - Ugly Cousin and Fools Gold of Dahlonega

Ugly Cousin band members are all natives of Dahlonega and all grew up around a variety of music. There is a clear and 'golden' thread of traditional music woven throughout their repertoire. Both age old favorites and well honed originals incorporate a half dozen genres of music.

Fool's Gold cooks a simmering stew made up of traditional mountain music, blues, rock, gospel, and early country sounds. They have been a mainstay of Dahlonega area music for years. Using acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, bass, harmonica, and lap-steel guitar they produce what can best be described as "mountain jazz," an uplifting blend of America's music.

Upcoming Concerts!

Kurt Thomas

Kurt grew up enjoying the close-knit country life in Dahlonega, GA. The small town way of life is a frequent theme in many of the songs Kurt writes. Kurt recalls that he used to work at an old country store called Pierce's. "All the old farmers would hang out there in the mornings and tell stories about their lives and I guess that it had a big impact on my life" says Kurt. He has recorded four CD's with Lee Davis at MLD Productions - "Kurt Thomas and the Small Town Band" was first, followed by the solo CDs, "Enjoy The Ride" ,"Turn Up The Radio" and the latest release "Six Strings and a Prayer".

"Kurt's songwriting ability is one of the most amazing talents I have seen in my many years in the music business", said Davis, an opinion supported by Kurt's 2008 win of Kenny Chesney's Next Big Star contest making him the opening act for Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, Sammy Hagar, LeAnn Rimes, Gary Alan and Sugarland. Kurt has also opened for Zac Brown Band, Joe Diffie, Little Big Town and Blue County.

All ages welcome. No cover charge.

September 14, 2013 - 9pm

His debut album, Come What May, is in process while completing a documentary tour entitled, "The Clay Coley Thousand Mile Tour."   All ages welcome. No cover charge.

FRIDAY LIVE MUSIC:

Sep 6: Stoned Sandwich

"Just a couple of guys playing a couple of covers..."

www.facebook.com/stonedsandwich

Stoned Sandwich - Originally from Habersham, Corey Noggle and Cody Morris were just your average farm boys. And just like everyone else they put on their pants one leg at a time. Until Cody lost his leg. Then he technically still put on his pants one leg at a time, but with less legs. But through the magic of musical medicine, he regenerated his leg and got to kickin' on the 6-string. The story of Corey Noggle was less exciting.

Sep 13: Greg Parton Duo

Sep 20: Stoned Sandwich
