An impressive fine art gallery hangs in our Library (and in an online gallery) all week with works by local and renowned artists for you to view and buy during library hours. The artists generously donate 1/3 of their proceeds to the MTL. It's a great way to kick off the holiday speason. You won't want to miss it! *see Library hours below

Robotics Workshop: Build a Spinning Snowflake

(In-Person for Grades 4-6)To celebrate the first snow of the season, we will build spinning snowflakes! This coding-free project will focus on building an actuator to power the snowflake. No robotics experience is required.

(In-Person for Teens & Adults) Local writers and lovers of literature are invited to read their own work or someone else’s, or just listen to others read. All literary genres welcome. Readings should be no more than 5 minutes. Light refreshments will be served.

MTL Art Show Closing Reception

(In-Person) Treat yourself to a bit of holiday cheer at the Mark Twain Library! Drop in for a final chance to see the Library’s 51st Annual Art Show. Meet some of the artists, nibble on some holiday goodies and browse around while listening to the talented Barlow Chamber Singers. A special reception to celebrate both the Library and a favorite Redding tradition. No registration necessary.

So we put together a list of books about art for all interests - whether you are looking to learn about a specific artist, understand the methods behind great works, discover the history behind certain periods or techniques, or gain some tips on how to collect.
