Weekly Member Memo - Sept. 24, 2024

We have sold 900 tickets.

Goal 2000.

We have a 1/2 page ad in Hemisphere's Mag for the month of Sept. (United Airlines).

A dedicated event email will go out Sept. 26th.

In the meantime, participating wineries now have the tool kit to promote this event, so please share in your newsletters and on your social platforms.

Sonoma Magazine is on board as our Presenting Media Sponsor.

Debbie is currently in the process if editing a multi- page program that will be printed for the event.

Wineries should have received a bundle of the event postcard last week - to help spread the word.

Come Over October

Read our newest blog post, so you understand what it's all about.

Come Over October

Read even more about it here and then list your October events, invitations and party ideas, on our calendar including the callout #ComeOverOctober

This is an important message for the industry to share to wine buyers across the country. We need to be united in our message of wine being a way to bring friends together, to enhance a meal, to celebrate. We can't chip away month by month and endure Dry January, Sober October....

This is your livelihood - what do YOU love about wine? Talk about it.

NEW Wine Road MAPS

We have started the long process of editing winery and lodging info for our next printed map.

Please grab a current map, and if you have wine, or hours, or amenities to edit, please send to beth@wineroad.com

Deadline to make edits - Oct. 15th

At least a partial assessment payment must be made to be included on the map.

Harvest Wine Trail, which happened on Sept. 14th - ended up with the same number of tickets as the past few Wine Trails - with just about 150. Most were sold about 1-3 days prior to the event.

We had wineries let us know they saw over 20 ticket holders and other wineries that saw no one. The jury is still out, as to if we will continue this program.

Being a low key event, without having to "staff up" or provide food etc, maybe YOU would like to see it continue. It would be great to get more feedback from the participating wineries.

Should we continue to schedule 4 of these per year - Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall? Keep it at $40? Let us know your thoughts. Debbie@wineroad.com

Big News for Team Wine Road (Liana, Debbie, Beth)

We are saving our rent money and working from home.

Debbie and Liana are already there, and I will be working about 50% from home and 50% from a smaller (free) office space (same building). The "map box" is still there.

This will be a BIG savings for us, which we will put toward our new website and other marketing plans.

This is where YOU come in...the three of us need to meet every Thursday morning at 10:00am for about an hour. We'd love to meet at a different winery every week.

We don't need anything from you, other than a place to sit, and the wi-fi connection, so we can have our weekly office update. We can meet in the tasting room, in the cellar, on the patio. Then we'll take photos of where we're at and share what's new at the winery, on the Wine Road social pages.

If you would like us to stop by - let me know and I'll put it on our calendar. beth@wineroad.com

We rarely get out to meet with our members, so we hope this is a bonus for all of us. We are excited!

Private Tour of Oliver Ranch’s Renowned Outdoor Sculptures

To Benefit Sonoma County Wine Library

Join us on Sunday, October 6, for a docent-led private viewing of Oliver Ranch’s collection of acclaimed monumental sculptures. All funds raised from the event will benefit the non-profit Sonoma County Wine Library.

The two-and-a-half-hour walking tour will cover approximately 2.5 miles of rugged, hilly terrain on the Geyserville property. Expect unpaved paths with 600 feet of elevation change. Comfortable, non-slip hiking shoes are recommended, no sandals or heels.

There are no public tours of the property, and our exclusive event is limited to 30 guests.

Thank you to our partners along the Wine Road for their financial support.
