Club Expo

The Mercy Club Expo brought vibrant energy to the gym as students showcased the 45+ extracurricular opportunities. From Science, Robotics, and Fishbowl to French, Youth Mercy Associates, BASE, One Love, HOSA, and more, there was something for every Mercy girl to explore and enjoy. POWERSCHOOL ACCESS

Please note the following email was sent to all students in regard to PowerSchool access during the school day.

Beginning Wednesday, September 17 PowerSchool will be deactivated during the school day. 

A few years ago, Mercy High School engaged the Christian Learning Center (CLC) Network to conduct a site study to examine the education support systems available at Mercy High School. The study included student, parent, teacher, and administrator questionnaires and interviews - as well as classroom observations. 

One of the study's findings was that many students indicated that the electronic grading systems (PowerSchool) at Mercy seemed to increase anxiety and stress levels and affect students' concentration during school hours. Students and parents reported checking PowerSchool several times a day, especially immediately after a test or quiz. This constant checking not only decreases attention and motivation but also increases focus on grades rather than overall learning. The recommendation suggested limiting access to PowerSchool during school hours.

Mercy will return to the practice of disabling PowerSchool for students and parents from 7:30 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. each school day. Please note: This will not affect Schoology access.

If students need to have access to PowerSchool during the school day to discuss a discrepancy with a grade with their teacher, please email cmcmaster@mhsmi.org.

Halloween Costume Drive

Mission and Ministry’s Halloween Costume Drive is back—beginning Wednesday, September 17th, through Friday the 26th! In coordination with the Michigan-based nonprofit, Glinda’s Closet, your donations will benefit families experiencing financial instability this Halloween season. Donation bins can be found in the Lobby, Reception Area, and outside of Mission & Ministry!

Spring Musical Audition Workshop

Mercy Students and Local High School Boys Welcome

Students interested in auditioning for the Spring Musical Once Upon a Mattress, please join Performing Arts for an audition workshop Thursday, September 24th from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. 

Mrs. Bajorek, Mrs. Dearing, and choreographer, Aimee Crosby will go over the audition process and answer any questions. Students will also sing through the audition songs and learn the dance choreography, so that they are more confident for the auditions in October.

College Fair at Catholic Central

More than 70 schools and institutions — including military academies — will be on hand for the 2025 College Fair at Catholic Central.

College & Career Resource Counselor Catholic Central

College & Career Night – October 21st at Rochester High School

All students are invited to attend College & Career Night on Monday, October 21st, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Rochester High School. Over 67 two-year and four-year colleges and universities will be on site, along with opportunities to explore apprenticeships, military careers, fire, police, EMT, and other public service pathways. LORE YEARBOOK

Senior Photos–Photo Sessions Added!

If you tried to make an appointment for photos, but could not find one online, we have requested more time slots to be opened for Mercy students! To schedule your Senior portrait session, visit prestigeportraits.com/studio or if you need further assistance, please call (248) 427-1002.

Seniors must have their yearbook photo taken at Prestige Portraits by October 24, 2025 to be pictured in the yearbook and the class composite. Pose must be picked by November 14, 2025. The dress code is modest neckline, no strapless or low cut tops. Those who do not comply with the dress code or deadlines will not be included in the yearbook and class composite.

Senior Yearbook Ads

The Lore Yearbook staff is very excited to capture memories of the year for our students, especially this year’s Senior Class. Within Lore every year, the families of the graduating class have the opportunity to purchase ads to celebrate their students with a personalized message and photo(s). Ads will be divided into two pricing tiers:

• August 14-December 7, prices will range from $350 for a full-page ad to $25 for a 1/16th-page ad
• December 8-February 20, prices will range from $400 for a full-page ad to $35 for a 1/16th-page ad, depending on availability. 

To design and purchase an ad for your graduating senior, please visit the order website (job number: 13826) and follow these instructions:

1. Choose the size ad you would like to create.
2. Select student when prompted for whom to buy the ad.
3. Enter your student’s name. Please use her full name as it appears on PowerSchool, not a nickname.
4. Choose whether you would like to create the ad online or send the message and photos to the Lore staff to make the ad. 
5. Follow all of the prompts and instructions to complete the ad.
