Editor’s note: Please know the first day of in-person learning for K – 12 Students with Disabilities in Specialized Services (Phase 1) will be Tuesday, January 5, 2021. This is a new date.
This link to the Superintendent’s message is sent weekly to families, students, and staff in the Rochester City School District. This week the Superintendent discusses the return to *four days* of in-person learning for K - 12 Students with Disabilities in Specialized Services starting Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
You received information about this particular student population back in October. In all, this will impact approximately 355 students in the following programs:
- 12:1+(3+1) Growth in Education for Students with Multiple Disabilities (GEM)
- 12: 1 + 3 New York State Alternate Assessment (NYSAA)
- 12:1:1 New York State Alternate Assessment (NYSAA)
- 8: 1 +2 New York State Alternate Assessment (NYSAA)
- 6: 1 + 2 Autism Spectrum Disorder
- 6: 1 + 4 Autism Spectrum Disorder
- 6: 1 + 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder
- 6: 1 + 2 New York State Alternate Assessment (NYSAA)
- 12: 1 + 3 Social Communication
- 12: 1 + 1 Social Communication
In the Superintendent’s message she discusses:
- K – 12 Students with Disabilities in Specialized Services returning to their home schools.
- 15 schools will accommodate this student population
- Access to set up classrooms
- Expectations of students and staff while arriving at school and during the day while in the building
- What classrooms will look like
- Safety precautions
- A COVID-19 consent form for parents
