Lent Evensong
This Saturday, April 5, 5:00pm
Join our parish choir, along with other singers from around the Twin Cities, for contemplative musical evening prayer. With scripture, prayer and music drawn in part from Celtic sources, we will meditate on finding strength and hope in difficult times.
"When a great ship is in harbor and moored, it is safe, there can be no doubt. But that is not what great ships are built for."
- Clarissa Pinkola Estés

Are you Interested in Being Received into the Episcopal Church?
Bishop Craig Loya will preside at a service of Confirmation and Reception at St. Mark's Cathedral on Saturday, April 26 at 2:00. Those who have been baptized and have been members of another Christian fellowship and who wish to be affiliated with the Episcopal Church may make a public affirmation of their faith and commitment to the responsibilities of their baptism in the presence of our bishop. He will lay hands on each candidate for reception and say, “We recognize you as a member of the one holy catholic and apostolic Church, and we receive you into the fellowship of this Communion” (Book of Common Prayer, p. 418).
Please speak with or email Rev. Katherine at klewis@stdavidsparish.org to learn more.

April 6: Episcopal Church History
Kris Ferrario will lead a Forum on Sunday, April 6, for an exploration of the rich tradition of the Episcopal Church, of which St. David’s is a part. As a member of the global Anglican Communion, the Episcopal Church bridges the ancient and the modern—rooted in tradition, theology, and governance while actively engaging with contemporary social issues.

CALLING ALL POTAGER CHEFS
What in the world is that, you may ask. It is a cook who specializes in soups! Even if you don’t specialize in soups, we will gladly take your generous soup contributions for St David’s upcoming Agape Meal on Maundy Thursday, April 17th at 6 pm.
This most holy night begins with a communal family style meal of soups, warm pita bread, homemade hummus, and a variety of nuts/olives/dried fruit. Looking for both meat and vegetarian soup options. Please email or call me if you would be willing to prepare a crockpot of soup for the evening.
Thanks in advance!

Invitation to a Spiritual Practice for Lent:
The Art of Neighboring
Did you know that Americans are spending more time alone today than in any period in modern history? Some are saying it’s an “epidemic of loneliness”. Across all demographic groups our time socializing face-to-face is down 20% from 2003 to 2023... and for youth it’s down 40% (Bureau of Labor Statistics)!
What does this mean? How is it changing us? What does scripture offer as a source of wisdom to guide us? As Bishop Loya implores us… what is one “small thing” that I can do?
Our invitation is for everyone to identify ONE Lenten practice that will change the way you interact with your “neighbors”. We will gather again after Lent to share our stories of how this one small Lenten practice made an impact on ourselves or others.

ICA Update
ICA Sunday at St. David’s is this Sunday
This coming Sunday, April 6, is the first Sunday of the month and thus, St. David’s ICA Sunday. Current needs include:
Food Non-food
canned fruit pet food
soup shampoo
coffee body wash
oil diapers
sugar toilet paper
pasta sauce paper towels
peanut butter feminine hygiene products
The list above are suggestions. Please know anything you would like to donate is always greatly appreciated. Bring your items to church this Sunday or drop them off at your convenience in one of the ICA baskets, located at the church entrances.
While food donations help bring in supplies for immediate use, a financial donation to ICA helps to ensure the shelves can be well stocked. A check made out to ICA can be dropped in the Sunday collection plate. You can also go online at www.icafooddhelf.org, choose Donate from the menu and follow the prompts. When you make a gift through ICA’s website, be sure to indicate you are a member of St. David’s. Thank you for your continued support of ICA.
