St. David’s will host a Christmas Eve reception in the Undercroft immediately after the 4:30 pm worship service. If you are able, please bring a dish to share. St. David’s will provide beverages. Celebrate Jesus’ birth with your St. David's friends and their guests!

A Christmas Surprise 

Hi everyone. My name is Gavin Ferro. Last year I decided to follow a tradition from my old church in California: giving out Christmas ornaments for everyone to take home on Christmas Eve. But instead of buying ornaments, I wanted something customized and special. So I designed and printed the ornaments on a 3D printer. I want to leave the design for this a surprise until Christmas, so here's a hint: This year's design is going to include something that’s really popular around Christmas time and in the church, and will also highlight the amazing Saint David’s logo. Make sure you look out for it on Christmas Eve, and have a very merry Christmas!

December Vestry Meeting Update to the Parish

Your St. David's Vestry met this past Monday night, December 16.

After enjoying a pizza dinner, the meeting began with prayer. Our Vestry visitor for the month was Steve Johnson, chair of the finance committee, who presented the draft 2025 budget. The discernment topic was also the 2025 budget, which is looking like it is in good shape thanks to the generosity of everyone in the St. David's community. The Vestry will review and recommend a final 2025 budget to the congregation in January ahead of the annual parish meeting, which is coming up on January 26 - mark your calendars! There will be a budget forum the Sunday before (January 19) to review the budget in detail and answer questions.

Next up were our monthly gratitudes and recognitions, approvals (minutes, financials, and 2025 church office calendar).

An update was given on the office admin position. A vision statement was reviewed, and the plan is to have a job description finalized and posted within the next month.

The warden's report and rector's reports were reviewed, and shepherding reports in the areas of faithful innovation and technology were reviewed.

The Vestry expressed its heartfelt thanks to Kay Turner for her many years of faithful service as Clerk of the St. David's Vestry.

We closed our meeting with a prayer from the Compline service.

Our next meeting will be Monday, January 13.

Pledge statements reflecting contributions from January 1 - December 11, 2024 have been mailed to those with a remaining pledge balance. Parishioners who have set up recurring bank payments or have paid their pledge in full will not receive a reminder statement.

Year-end gifts to St. David’s must be received in the church office on or before December 31, or postmarked on or before December 31, to be included in 2024 income and reflected on your 2024 tax statements.

Thank you to all who have chosen to make a recurring pledge payment. This can be done through REALM or via ACH through St. David’s. If you would like more information or need help setting up a recurring payment for the new year, please reach out to Shea Brendalen at sbrendalen@stdavidsparish.org.

Bake and Craft Sale - Thank you!

A huge shout out to the people of St. David's!!! Thank you for your help in making our Bake and Craft Sale the most successful ever. We took in over $1700! Ann Carda won the Cookie Raffle, and the rest of us were able to enjoy delicious baked goods purchased at the Sale. Thanks to Sara Leigh and Dean Sather for setting up and managing the event. Once again, the people of St. David's put the fun in FUNdraising.

Hats and Mittens Update

Many thanks for your generous donations of hats, mittens and scarves this month. Your donated items have already gone out to needy young people in the community. 

Of note: Hats and Mittens, a 501c3 dedicated to providing free hats and mittens (& scarves) to children in need during the cold winter months, has already prepared and sent out over 

29,000 sets of hats and mittens since early October! Last year the organization distributed about 27,000 total sets. Obviously, the need is greater than ever! 

We will be collecting new or gently used (& clean) hats, mittens and scarves through the winter months. Please keep in mind this special outreach to the youth (infant to young adult) in the seven county metro area as winter is finally settling in. 

There are Hats and Mittens collection boxes at the two south church entrances. Think of what having warm mittens, hat and a scarf will mean to a child or teen who has none. 

Thank you for helping to keep our metro children and youth warm this winter.
