Dear Family & Friends of ICSC, 

It is with great pleasure that we announce   Eid al-Adha will be on Friday, September 1 at the Pasadena Convention Center. We hope you will j oin us for this blessed celebration as we commemorate the submission and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) and Ismail.

1st Service: Takbeer at 7 a.m. |Prayer at 7:30 a.m. | Khateeb: Salam Al-Marayati   

2nd Service: Takbeer at 8 a.m. | Prayer at 8:15 a.m. | Khateeb: Asim Buyuksoy


Tonight, we regroup for another exciting  Family Night at New Horizon School Pasadena. Starting at 6 p.m., we will have some mandatory fun, complete personality tests and take a closer look at the characteristics that define how we function. There will be a separate session for youth while adults continue the personality conversation with Osman Khan. Dinah's chicken boxes will be available for purchase. Please don't forget to  RSVP!

Also, there are still a few spots open for our Singles Social Club Mixer (Ages 35-45 yrs) taking place tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 26 in West Los Angeles. The mixer is a relaxed way for single Muslims to meet other single Muslims. Events are small - capping at 12 men and 12 women. Guests play ice breakers and enjoy natural conversation over a family-style dinner and dessert. Register today and reserve your spot! Location will be given upon RSVP.

On Sunday, join us for an Eid Bazaar hosted by New Horizon Los Angeles. There will be fun and games for children, face painting, henna, food, vendor booths and more! The festivities begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. 

Last but not least, we will close out the weekend with a Sunset Hike in Altadena. We will meet at Masjid Al-Taqwa at 4:30 p.m. to pray Asr and then head to Echo Mountain. This hike is intermediate level and will take approximately 2 hours to climb to the top. Once at the summit, Sheikh Asim Buyuksoy will lead us in a story circle surrounding Eid Al-Adha.

Renowned civil rights activist Reverend Jesse Jackson spoke to a full house at the Islamic Center this past  Sunday . In these trying times, especially in light of the recent attacks in Charlottesville, Reverend Jackson's unwavering spirit and his firm belief in the power of unity left the room feeling renewed and hopeful.

We will pray Asr prayer at Masjid Al-Taqwa and head over to Echo Mountain. This is an intermediate hike. It is 2hrs to the top, 2 hours down, and we will spend approx. 45 minutes at the summit for an Eid Al-Adha story circle.
