Many names have been used when referring to Jesus and all can be found in scripture. I think my favorite is Jesus as the Great I Am. Jesus said in John’s Gospel on seven different occasions that He is the one who has done, or will do, something amazing. He said, “I am…” And the word great has been added to it to show that Jesus is indeed The Great I Am! This Sunday I will be preaching from John 15:1-5 where Jesus proclaims twice that He is the vine. He also refers to us as branches in a vineyard and how important it is for us to bear good fruit for Him. Jesus says we can do this if we abide, or remain, in Him. Since Jesus is our all in all and the reason we can live an abundant life, which leads to eternal life, then what does that make me and you? We also can say, “I am…” when we describe who Jesus is to us. Jesus IS all the world to us! How do YOU describe Him?
Remember, God loves you and so do I.
