Thank you for Joining us for Pentecost Sunday

We enjoyed kites flying high, readings spoken in many languages, recognition of high school seniors and lay ministry leaders, and a meaningful activity to reflect on our own migration stories and how the Spirit moves us and moves through us in the world.

Suite: Flame, Paul Pederson

Thank you Paul Pederson for sharing your musical gifts with us last Sunday, a beautiful example of yet another "language" through which the Holy Spirit communicates God's presence.

ISAIAH Lighthouse Training

Tuesday, June 17, 6:00-9:00pm at Mills Church

Every day we see increasing violations of civil rights and due process, as well as threats to safety net programs like Medicaid, food stamps and Section 8 Housing. How can we take action?

Join congregations and individuals from across the suburbs this Tuesday in a conversation about how we chart a path through the storm together. We will discuss the stakes of this political moment, get trained on concrete strategies to stand up against authoritarianism, and commit to action to bring ourselves and our communities off the sidelines and into the struggle to protect and expand the essential programs and rights we all deserve.

ISAIAH is a vehicle for congregations, clergy, and people of faith to act collectively and powerfully towards racial and economic equity in the state of Minnesota. By uniting local congregations in a large regional organization, ISAIAH strengthens the ability of people of faith to address both local and regional community issues, including mass incarceration, immigration, healthcare, and racial inequity.

Mes Amis Graduation!

On Saturday, June 7, the Mes Amis French School held a celebration event for preschoolers who are “graduating” to Kindergarten this fall. There were four graduates out of the current class of eight preschoolers.

Parents, extended family members, and friends all gathered in the Undercroft to hear the children answer questions, sing songs, and recite poems – all en Francais of course!

The program concluded with the graduates, each dressed in their caps and gowns, walking across the stage to receive a certificate of achievement. Many photos were taken and there were lots of smiles and tears from the proud adults who were present.

As with most celebrations, this one concluded with a lunch that was made enjoyable by an atmosphere of great festivity. It was really sweet to see many siblings and younger folks present who will no doubt take the place of those who left when the time comes.

If you know of anyone who might be interested in more information, please contact the school’s Director, Rose Mingo-Holtz, at rose@mesamisfrenchschool.org.

Join with other Creation-loving folks for four seasons of on-farm learning and practice through the Farm Stewards ministry at Good Courage Farm in Hutchinson. This immersive, agrarian faith formation experience invites you (and church friends new and old!) to commit one Saturday a month (March through October) to a prayerful, joyful, reciprocal relationship with the farm's fruit trees, grapevines, or animals.
