September is California Wine Month

September is the 19th annual California Wine Month, a time to raise a glass to the state’s wine industry and celebrate its people, regions, wines and experiences.

As the top U.S. wine-producing state and home to more than 6,200 wineries, California grows more than 100 grape varieties, produces over 81% of the country’s wine and accounts for 95% of its wine exports. In addition, California is a leader in sustainable practices, with 80% of the state’s wine produced by Certified California Sustainable wineries.

September is National Bourbon Heritage Month

In 2007, the US Senate declared September as “National Bourbon Heritage Month.” Bill S. RES. 294, sponsored by Senator Jim Bunning of Kentucky, passed the 110th United States Senate by unanimous consent. The bill reinforces the 1964 Act of Congress that declared bourbon “America’s Native Spirit” by celebrating the family heritage, tradition and deep-rooted legacy that the bourbon industry contributes to the United States.

Ever since then, Bourbon fans and distillers have celebrated the month of September as National Bourbon Heritage month, or as some like to say – The Best Month of the Year!

Horse Soldier Dinner

CJ Wyllie, Sales Representative, Excel, and Karley Wester, Gallo, set up an amazing Horse Soldier Dinner at Charred Oak Tavern.

Steve Kofron was supposed to be the guest speaker but because of the hurricane he couldn’t attend. Karley then had the captain and commander of the Horse Soldiers, Mark Nutsch, video call in which was an awesome treat.

Mike and Matt Menard, owners of Charred Oak Tavern, let Chef Dave and Sous Chef Richie have free rein to do whatever they wanted for dinner and absolutely crushed a fantastic meal. Raw bar, one of the biggest charcuterie offerings, 7 passed apps, venison chops, surf n turf, dessert, it was so much, it went so well, the account is already scheduling more dinners with Martignetti for the next 6 months.

Excel & Commonwealth Division, MA

Hartley & Parker Sales Division

is featuring Doladira, the elevated aperitivo.

Named for both the Dolomites of Northeast Italy and Enrosadira: the rose glow on those mountains as the sun goes down, refreshing, round, and herbaceous, Doladira is the alpine aperitivo that elevates any occasion.

In 2019 Meredith Erickson published Alpine Cooking which has since become the definitive guide to alpine cuisine. The book contains the recipe for a ‘spring rhubarb cocktail’, a mesmerizing elixir of rhubarb puree and elderflower tonic.

Inspired by the Spring Rhubarb Cocktail, Meredith teamed up with former master sommelier and CKBG

co-founder Richard Betts to bottle a version of it and satisfy a desire they both had for the exact Aperitivo they always wanted to drink but couldn’t find. Meredith and Richard developed over 30 versions of the recipe before landing on its current instance: a rhubarb infusion with notes of plum, rosemary, and a hint of salinity. Every piece along the way has been created with the utmost care; from the original cocktail to the custom glass bottle to our all-natural final recipe. Doladira is a perfectly balanced aperitivo that makes you feel like you're in an alpine meadow and leaves you thirsty for more.

Doladira is a delightful rhubarb elixir crafted with plum, gentian, elderflower, and rosemary. Herbaceous and fresh with a smooth texture, it can be enjoyed simply on the rocks or mixed. Doladira makes you thirsty for more!

Hartley & Parker Sales Division

is also featuring Purato Rosé Terre Siciliane IGP.

Purato Rosé has been produced in very limited quantities and has been released early for maximum freshness. This wine is made with certified organic grapes. No artificial fertilizers or pesticides are used in the vineyards. Purato’s environmental commitment extends into the winery. Purato uses eco-friendly packaging, made from recycled paper, pure vegetable ink on the labels, and 85% recycled glass for the bottle.

Purato Rosé is a bright pink color. A highly characterful, bright rosè, with tons of fresh red berry fruit aromas and flavors. Extremely pleasant, fresh, and smooth sip.

Hartley & Parker's portfolio may include products that are not available through Martignetti Companies, Massachusetts and NNE.

United Sales Division

is excited to feature NEW Empress 1908 Elderflower Rose Gin.

Inspired by their beautiful location in Victoria, British Columbia, Empress Elderflower Rose Gin pays homage to ‘The City of Gardens,’ where flowers blossom nearly year-round. The fresh, floral botanicals create a delicate spirit with a distinctive all-natural rose hue, adding a touch of their home to your next cocktail creation.

Empress 1908 Elderflower Rose Gin Nine beautifully blended ingredients inspire a delicate spirit with a stunning ruby appearance, rich aroma and surprisingly understated floral palate. With exquisite citrus and spice notes and just a touch of sweetness, our Elderflower Rose recipe allows each botanical to shine.

Corvus Vodka is 6 X distilled and charcoal filtered for an ultra smooth taste available in Original, Tropical and Grilled Pineapple. Perfect for the start of Football Season. Drink like a Champion.

Corvus Original The taste has a gentle sweetness that is rather nice, and the nose is full of notes of grains. Clean minerality with grain character evident and a faint hint of

tinned sweet corn.

Corvus Grilled Pineapple Freshly crushed pineapple with aroma notes of being grilled to perfection. The heating process caramelizes the pineapple, taking an already sweet, tropical fruit to the next level of deliciousness.

Corvus Tropical Flavors of juicy tropical fruits that include mango, pineapple, strawberry and creamy coconut.

Portion of the proceeds from every bottle sold is donated back to the Hall of Fame players assistance fund.

Connoisseur Sales Division

is featuring Charles Woodson's Intercept Wines.

Charles Woodson's Intercept Wines "In wine and in football, if you want longevity, you must work hard. If you want to make a great wine that can stand the test of time, then you must put the time and work into it.”

"When you watch a game on Sunday, you just see the final output of all the time us players put in the week before, maybe even the summer before. It’s the same with wine. You buy a bottle of wine, you open it, you drink it, and, hopefully, you’re satisfied with what you’re getting. You get to enjoy the final product, but don’t necessarily see all the work that went into it. The weather, the terroir, the blending – and everything else that affects that bottle. There are many pitfalls that can get in your way and potentially spoil everything you have worked so hard for!"

- Charles Woodson, 18-year NFL legend and Vintner

Classic Sales Division

is featuring Quadrum Rosé, perfect for tailgating.

Quadrum Rosé is a blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha, two of Spain’s most important native grape varieties. This Rosé is delicious by itself, but fruity enough to mix into your favorite sangria recipe. Comes in a convenient box that is perfect for your tailgate spread.

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (Task Force) now recommends that adults under the age of 65 get regularly screened for anxiety. For the first time, the Task Force recommends screening all adults under 65 who don’t have a diagnosed mental health disorder or related symptoms. This is meant to help primary care clinicians identify early signs of anxiety, which can go undetected for years.

How Often Do You Need to Exercise for Optimal Heart Health?

The American Heart Association recommends 150 minutes or more of moderate to vigorous physical activity each week but doesn’t specify an optimal pattern. New research published in The Journal of the American Medical Association suggests that “weekend warriors” may realize the same cardiovascular health benefits as those who work out multiple times a week.
