Happy Diwali

Every year Hindus around the world celebrate Diwali, or Deepavali, a festival of lights that stretches back more than 2,500 years. Diwali 2022 starts Monday, October 24th. In India, the five-day celebration traditionally marks the biggest holiday of the year.

Like many Hindu festivals, there isn’t just one reason to celebrate the five-day holiday. The ancient celebration is linked to multiple stories in religious texts, and it’s impossible to say which came first, or how long ago Diwali started. Many of these stories are about the triumph of good over evil.

Employee Badge

Due to supply chain issues, some new hires have not received an employee badge over the past few months. We have received a new machine and are prepared to make badges for anyone who didn’t receive one. All new employees who need an employee badge should report to the security desk at the Warehouse entrance with their employee ID number to initiate this process. Badge printing is available from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

To locate your employee ID number, take the following steps:

  1. Open the Paylocity App
  2. Using the drop down on the top left, click on your name at the very top
  3. About halfway down the page, under the “Work section” you will find an ID number. It is most likely a 6 digit number.

Covid-19 Home Tests

We have approximately 10 boxes of Covid-19 Tests (each containing 2 tests) available in Human Resources. The test kits have a use-by date that has expired, but the FDA has extended their shelf life to the end of the year. We have placed the tests on the table in Human Resources. Please feel free to stop by for any tests that you may need.

Contact Human Resources with any questions.

A sand-witch.

Witches Brew

1 oz Lemonade

Soda Water

• Crushed Ice

DIRECTIONS:

Fill a glass with crushed ice. Next, add the lemonade followed by Blue Curacao. Then add the gin and top with soda water. Excel Division

Commonwealth Sales Division is excited to feature the NEW Apothic Dark Limited Edition.

Introducing Apothic Dark Limited Edition label inspired by the limitless possibilities that live in the darkness. This label was created to ignite your curiosity for discovering what the night has in store during this Fall season.

Apothic Dark is a bold red blend with daring depths of black plum, fig and blackberry with accents of boysenberry jam. Deep garnet shows in the glass, opening with aromas of black raspberry and cocoa. A plush mouthfeel offers undercurrents of black cherry with hints of licorice that pull through to a long, spice-tinged finish.

Connoisseur Sales Division is featuring Hob Nob Wicked Red Limited Edition.

Hob Nob Wicked Red garnet color. Offering a complex and intense nose with aromas of roasted coffee, mocha, toasted hazelnut, and spicy notes embellished with hints of orange zest and orange flower. On the palate this wine is rich, warm, and flavorful with a smooth texture.

United Sales Division is featuring Demon Seed Whiskey.

Saint Dunstan was a quiet metalsmith who kept to himself, until one evening when the devil paid him a visit. The devil asked Saint Dunstan to re-shoe his cloven hoof, and instead was met with an immense amount of pain; Saint Dunstan decided to nail a horseshoe to the Devil's hoof. After the Devil pleaded with Saint Dunstan, he agreed to take it off only if the devil agreed to respect and never enter a door with a horseshoe above it. This is claimed as the origin of the "lucky horseshoe". Today a horseshoe made by an entrepreneur who inhabited our building in the 1850s graces the top of our front doors to the distillery.

Demon Seed Whiskey made with a delicious blend of Scorpion pepper, fresh ginger and maple syrup. Bring the heat to any cocktail or sip alone.

Classic Sales Division is featuring Michael David Winery.

Freakshow Cabernet Sauvignon step right up for an experience like no other – the amazing brawn and finesse of the Strongest Man on Earth! The first star in our Freakshow series, this wine opens the show with black cherry, strawberry and toasted hazelnut aromas. He is larger-than-life, medium in body and showcases flavors of plum, chocolate truffle and butterscotch with an oak-inspired finish that will surely have you coming back for the second act.

PLUS Sporting a limited edition glow-in-the-dark label for October, this Strongman is sure to bring a trick and a treat to your Halloween!

Sixth Sense Syrah a glimpse into Michael and David’s cabinet of curiosities, we invite you to unpack the mystery and complexities of this wonderous wine. Deep violet in hue, aromas of black cherry laced with tobacco and toasted baguette fill the nose. Full bodied flavors of plum, espresso and clove carry the wine through a lingering, oak-inspired finish.

Century Sales Division is featuring Baileys Deliciously Light.

The trick is you used Baileys Deliciously Light… the treat is it’s just as DELICIOUS!

Baileys Deliciously Light 40% less calories and 40% less sugar than Baileys Original. Made with Cream from Ireland, with the luscious flavors of Baileys with real vanilla essence and Irish whiskey to create a light and versatile treat with all of the yummy taste.

Carolina Sales Division is featuring wines from Bogle Vineyards and 19 Crimes.

Bogle Vineyards Phantom Red intriguing, beguiling... This mysterious apparition of ripe berry and relentless spice returns to haunt wine lovers. Enveloped in shadow, this wine's intensity and concentration will entice you with every sip. Full-bodied and jammy, Phantom's origins of Petite Sirah and Zinfandel emerge from the glass. Spicy pepper and juniper tantalize your senses, while black plums and blueberries emerge on the palate. Notes of pipe tobacco and clove settle around the finish, long and lingering, like Delta fog.

Bogle Vineyards Phantom Chardonnay a gorgeous golden hue beckons from your glass, followed by seducing aromas of honeysuckle and buttered brioche. Spicy ginger notes compliment the tropical guava and passion fruit, while crisp apples and pears brighten and balance the rich texture. Lingering and long, the finish whispers of crème brûlée and caramel, left behind by barrel fermentation and sur lie aging.

October is SIDS Awareness Month

In October and beyond, infant caregivers and service/healthcare providers join together to encourage safe infant sleep and help raise awareness about ways to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Despite decreases in rates of SIDS and other sleep-related infant deaths, more than one-third of sudden unexpected infant deaths that occur in the United States each year are from SIDS. Research also shows that unsafe sleep areas, such as those that include non-fitted sheets, blankets, or stuffed toys, remain a leading cause of infant death.
