Watch Women's Sports

The Scotch whisky brand teamed up with Hannah Waddingham, perhaps better known to TV fanatics for her fictitious performance as Rebecca Welton, owner of AFC Richmond, on Ted Lasso, to tune into the matches and watch more women’s sports year-round.

“The ridiculous myth that ‘sports are for men and boys; is utter nonsense.” Waddingham told Forbes. She’s been rooting for England this World Cup, watching alongside her daughter.

With a simple message to “Watch Women’s Sports,” the partnership was influenced by the fact that women make up more than 40 percent of all athletes, yet receive less than 10 percent of total sports news coverage.

“I had no idea that these figures were so crazy,” said Waddingham about learning of the disparity of women versus men’s sport viewers leading up to the partnership. “I’m glad to use my status from a globally successful show essentially rooted in football to bring as much attention to back Johnnie Walker’s efforts as I possibly can.”

This includes Waddingham’s Match Day Memos, inspirational video reminders to prompt viewers of upcoming matches, which the actor and advocate has been producing since July 14, in the lead up of the first match, and will continue to create until the final on August 20.

Hannah Waddingham joins Gotham FC and Angel City FC Players in presenting Watch Women's Sports during Johnnie Walker's Women's Gotham FC v. Angel City FC Empowerment Game on July 2.

To expand the reach of Waddingham’s Match Day Memos, Johnnie Walker teamed up with three organizations dedicated to gender equality to deliver their initiative across the globe: The Women’s Sports FoundationJust Women’s Sports, and Hello Sunshine. The ‘Watch Women’s Sports’ campaign is also an extension to Johnnie Walker’s First Strides initiative that was established in 2022 to “celebrate, inspire and enable more meaningful firsts in culture.”

Yet, Johnnie Walker’s commitment to advocating for equality dates further back to their role as a founding partner of Angel City Football Club in 2021, the first majority women-founded, owned and operated pro-soccer team, and since expanding to partnering with Gotham FC.

Hartley & Parker Division

Hartley & Parker Sales Division

is featuring Galliano Espresso.

The eye-opening aroma of coffee is not exclusively reserved for mornings. Our espresso liqueur is the perfect way to keep drinking your favorite morning beverage in the evenings too. Coffee liqueur cocktails exist of a combination of bittersweet coffee and sweet liqueur. You can enjoy espresso liqueur on its own as a simple after-dinner drink or add it to a cocktail to provide a robust earthy flavor. One thing is sure, our Galliano Espresso liqueur is a game changer in the coffee liqueur cocktails world.

Galliano Espresso is not like any coffee liqueur but is a unique espresso liqueur with a more concentrated palate. The espresso liqueur contains two varieties of dark roasted coffee beans: 55% Arabica coffee beans from Colombia and Brazil and 45% Robusta coffee beans from India and Kenya. The Arabica coffee beans give a chocolaty creamy and delicate top note, while the Robusta contributes body and bitter coffee-flavored tones. Therefore, the espresso liqueur is perfect for the deepest and most intense coffee liqueur cocktails with a balanced aroma.

Hartley & Parker's portfolio may include products that are not available through Martignetti Massachusetts and NNE.

United Sales Division

is featuring NEW Jefferson's Tropic Aged in Humidity.

Jefferson’s Introduces the First-Ever Jungle-aged Bourbon.

Jefferson’s has set sail yet again. The award-winning bourbon brand known for aging its liquids at sea has readyed a special release of whiskey shaped by the hot and humid climes of Southeast Asia. And it’s a scorcher. Here’s everything you need to know about Jefferson’s Tropics Aged in Humidity.

The journey begins back in July 2019, when founder Trey Zoeller sent 720 barrels worth of his fully mature Kentucky straight bourbon to Singapore. Along the way, the liquid sloshed around atop the open ocean, accumulating added wood-sugar notes from inside the barrel, and a slight brininess from the sea air outside the oak.

Once the shipping containers arrived on the opposite end of the world, they were aged for an additional 18 months in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse. We’re talking jungle-aged bourbon here, folks. That’s a first.

The bourbon eventually made its way back to Kentucky in March 2023 and is now available through Martignetti Companies, what a trip!

Johnnie Walker Black Label is one of life’s true icons. A masterful blend of single malt and grain whiskies from across Scotland, aged for at least 12 years. The result is a timeless classic with depth and balance of flavor. Drink it with ice, neat or in a Highball.

Connoisseur Sales Division

is featuring Caymus Suisun The Walking Fool.

Chuck Wagner founded Caymus Vineyards with his parents in 1972 in Rutherford, California, in the center of Napa Valley. Now Caymus is putting down roots in a neighboring wine region called Suisun Valley. Only a 30-minute drive southeast of Napa, Suisun Valley is less well-known than its more famous neighbor, but shares a similar maritime climate and superb soils. Chuck likes to say that Suisun Valley reminds him of Napa Valley in the 1960s – full of open space, small family farms, meandering waterways lined with native oaks, and exceptional vineyards. Known more for its production of stone fruits, Suisun Valley is increasingly being recognized for its wines.

Caymus Suisun The Walking Fool A silky scarlet red with luminous highlights, this wine opens with a lean earthiness—the scent of rustic wood mixes with sweet spice, a whiff of cigar box, dusty pavement and old leather, infused with garden ripe strawberries and cherries. The palate is smooth and lively, featuring flavors of juicy raspberry, the subtle tartness of cranberry, and notes of espresso and smoked meat. Underlying acidity makes this wine mouthwatering, while its tannins lend a gritty yet softly fine texture. On the finish: a trace of vibrant cranberry, luxurious cocoa and an extra kick of spice.

Carolina Sales Division

is featuring Juggernaut Chardonnay.

Juggernaut grapes are grown in challenging conditions, where true grit and determination yield spectacular results. Determined Hillside Cabernet vines struggle to find purchase on steep, rocky slopes, where well-draining soils inspire roots to burrow deep in search of life-sustaining moisture. Steadfast Pinot Noir vines endure, unwavering, in inhospitable conditions, battered by wind and fog, struggling to utilize every precious hour of warmth and sunlight over a long growing season.

Juggernaut Chardonnay At first sip, this Chardonnay is fruit-forward and refreshing. Crisp green apple, Asian pear, and lemon meringue pie take center stage in our classic, cool-climate Chardonnay. More subtle tones of stone fruit, honeysuckle, and yellow plum develop in the mid-palate while barrel fermentation and sur lie again finish this Chardonnay with rich flavors of vanilla bean, butter cream, and subtle hints of baking spices and clove. Well balanced acidity gives this lively wine structure and the perfect amount of bite.

This wine just received a 92 Point rating from Wine Enthusiast.

August is Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month

Along with school supply shopping and purchasing those back-to-school clothing items, it’s time to make comprehensive eye exam appointments for the kids. Conveniently, August is designated as Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month!

A good rule of thumb is to have your children’s eyes examined during well-child visits, beginning around age three. Your child’s eye doctor can help detect refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism as well as the following diseases:

Amblyopia (lazy eye)

Strabismus (crossed eyes)

Ptosis (drooping of the eyelid)

Color deficiency (color blindness)

If you or your doctor suspect that your child may have a vision problem, you can make an appointment with your local ophthalmologist for further testing. There are some specific warning signs that may indicate that your child has a vision problem. Some of these include:

Wandering or crossed eyes

A family history of childhood vision problems

Disinterest in reading or viewing distant objects

Squinting or turning the head in an unusual manner while watching television

Keeping your children’s eyes safe is another part of maintaining healthy vision. Eye injuries are the leading cause of vision loss in children. There are about 42,000 sports-related eye injuries every year in America, and children suffer most of these injuries. Help prevent your child from being one of the more than 12 million children who suffer from vision impairment by remembering a few basic rules of safety:

All children should wear protective eyewear while participating in sports or recreational activities

Purchase age-appropriate toys for your children and avoid toys with sharp or protruding parts (Source: HAP).

Help your children have a successful school year by scheduling a comprehensive eye exam and taking safety measures to ensure their eyes are free from injury.
