Adult Education - Glory to God, New Hymnal Class

Led by Kedrick Armstrong

Johann Sebastian Bach, a German composer and musician who lived from 1685-1750, wrote the abbreviation S. D. G. (Soli deo gloria – Glory to God alone) at the end of all his church compositions. You're invited to join Kedrick Armstrong for the adult education class Glory to God. In this class we will explore aspects of our new church hymnal and get a glimpse into the ways our church uses music to live out our mission. The class will also include interactive activities and time for open discussion about church music with our music director. 
Adult Education - Pastor Kellen's Doctoral Journey & Reception

Join Pastor Kellen to hear about the journey to achieving his doctorate from Emory University this May. He’ll speak about his doctoral thesis project and its impact at First Pres. Members of the former Pastor Nominating Committee will host a reception to celebrate the occasion. 
Women's Ministry - Strawberry Breakfast

Join us for our end of year celebration honoring outgoing board members, installation of 2019-2020 board members and presentation of the Honorary Lifetime Membership Award. We will also feature speaker Tammy Bilek, who will offer her tips for “Rightsizing.” A delicious breakfast will be provided by Sarah Circle. Kindly RSVP to the church office by May 13.
Over 60 Singles Group
Sunday, May 19

First Pres is starting an Over 60 Singles Group for fun and fellowship. We will kick off the group with a wine and cheese gathering at the home of Lorrie Leahigh, 605 North President Street in Wheaton (note new location). Please join us as we plan future outings. Tomato and Pepper Plants are Coming
Sunday, May 19

The Mission Committee will be distributing tomato and pepper plants so we can grow vegetables for the food pantries. These past several years we have provided fresh vegetables to the food pantries, along with the “fruits” from our Giving Garden. Come to the Rotunda after worship and pick up your plants.

Sunday School Celebration  - Sunday, May 19 at 9:45 a.m. in the Ministry Center
Children will share what they have learned in Sunday School, sing songs and thank their teachers at this end-of-year celebration. Refreshments will be served in the Courtyard.

First Pres Preschool four and five year olds couldn't venture out to the
Lincoln Marsh for their end of year field trip on May 1 due to the weather.
So, the Lincoln Marsh came to the preschool!
