Godly Play for ages 3-6 this Sunday during the 9:30 service.
No Youth Group on Wednesday, October 16th - Enjoy MEA break!
Notice a change on Sunday mornings starting October 13th: We are rotating Godly Play with a new program, The Peace Table.
Godly Play will be for children ages 3-6 and will be in the Godly Play classroom downstairs. The Peace Table will be for children age 7-Grade 5 and will be in the Community Room upstairs. They will rotate every other week during the 9:30 service. This will allow for more developmentally appropriate formation experiences during that time children are pulled out of worship AND it will allow for the important formation time of children being in worship. Since children will be in programming during the service every other week, we will plan to return to worship just a little later, at the time of communion distribution.
Check out the 2024-25 Children and Youth Program Calendar
This link is live and will show any changes made! You can also find it on our website under ‘Learn’ > ‘Children and Youth in Faith’
The Nursery will remain open every Sunday during the 9:30 service, and we will have the Play rug and Narthex Nursery stocked with worship activities. We will also have worship activity bags available for children to bring to their seat. As we try this new rhythm for Sunday mornings, please don’t hesitate to reach out with your questions, concerns, ideas, or requests.
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. -Ecclesiastes 3:1
We're still collecting registration packets! All children and youth are required to have a registration packet completed. Complete it online here: https://forms.gle/Q2hr7WgnYyX5o7uD6

The Book of the Names of the Dead
At the 9:30 service on All Saints Sunday, November 3, we will read the Necrology, a listing of those we love who have died. It is fitting to do this on the day we celebrate the communion of saints, the mystical connection between the living and the dead.
We invite you to place the names of those you would like remembered in the Book of the Names of the Dead, located in the All Saints Columbarium Chapel.
In addition, we will continue our tradition of honoring those parishioners from St. David's who have died over the course of the last year. This honoring will take place with a special display in the Columbarium All Saints' Chapel on November 3.

Please stop by the narthex (main entryway) after the 9:30am service on Sunday, October 13th for answers to common election questions. Fellow parishioners will be ready to assist in voter registration, registration status, early voting, where to vote and much more! In the words of Bishop Curry, let’s help get those “souls to the polls!” | |

Voting our Values

Why/how is voting an act of faith? What does our faith teach us about civic engagement? How can we talk with others about voting in addition to just voting ourselves? Join Huldah Niles, Chair of the Justice Collaborative and Ben Whalen, Hennepin County Organizer for Isaiah, as they create a courageous space to discuss these important questions.

Community Night
Wednesday, October 23, 5pm
Join us for dinner, prayer, and a service project! We're teaming up again with Avenues for Youth (an organization that provides housing for unhoused youth in Minnesota) to provide Halloween goodie bags for their residents. They are also looking for sweatpants and sweatshirts (especially sizes L, XL, and XXL) as the weather turns colder. If you're able, please bring individually wrapped candies and/or some new sweatsuits. We'll spend some time after the meal stuffing those goodie bags with all that candy! Thanks so much for any labor or goods that you can provide and feel free to wear your Halloween costume!!

ICA Vision
A community where everyone has the resources to thrive
| | |
|
A Little History
Did you know that ICA was founded over a half century ago by two couples, aware of a mounting need in our community, who began distributing food and clothing from a house in downtown Hopkins. Shortly after, “ICA Food Shelf” was incorporated by a coalition of five churches from Hopkins and Minnetonka. For many years, ICA bagged food for neighbors from an old White House on Williston Road.
In 2007, ICA opened a new facility with the support of St. David’s and the community, just east of our church. In 2014, ICA started serving neighbors at the K-Tel location, implementing a “choice” food shelf model where neighbors now choose the food they want for their families at appointed times.
Today, ICA is supported by almost forty congregations from throughout the primary service area. These congregations and their members are vital to the success of ICA. They support ICA generously through special collections throughout the year, financial gifts and by supplying volunteers throughout the year and for special events.
Volunteers Needed
As you may recall, ICA has a wonderful program that provides turkeys and holiday food to our neighbors to help celebrate the holiday season. Every year volunteers help by handing out Turkey Certificates at a table set up at the Minnetonka Cub Foods (Highway 7 & 101.). The Turkey Certificates allow shoppers to donate $25 to provide one family with a turkey and other food this upcoming holiday season.
If you are interested in helping out for a couple hours on Friday 10/25, Saturday 10/26, Friday 11/2 or Saturday 11/2, you can sign up for a shift at www.icafoodshelf.org. Choose Events from the menu, then upcoming Events. Under Turkey Sales Tabling, select the date & time that works best for you. Two volunteers are needed for each shift. Maybe you could sign up with a friend or spouse. Thanks for considering this volunteer opportunity.
