Join Us as we Walk in Love Together

Our annual Giving Campaign, Walk in Love, has begun! We will walk with love and intention during the month of the campaign, remembering that our community’s greatest gift is how, as followers of Jesus, we align and come together in purpose and mission. When we walk in the same direction, we can do so many things. This is our opportunity to show our love and support for carrying out our mission and ministries, providing for our superb staff, and tending to our beautiful buildings and grounds.  Listen to the announcements and watch your inboxes and mailboxes for further information in the next weeks as we walk through this journey together.

ISAIAH Lighthouse Path Summit

"At St. David's we believe our actions transform the world and ourselves. We strive, through our words and actions, to be a force for love and justice, collaborating with organizations that work to address needs in our community for the poor, suffering and marginalized."

The above quotation is from our website and Mission/Vision statement. We have an opportunity to further this vision by participating in the ISAIAH Lighthouse Path Summit described below. This event focuses mainly on west suburban congregations. We would like to see St. David's well represented there. Please click the link below for a map and to register for the free event. If you have any questions, contact Susan Taylor (ss2taylor@comcast.net).

Suburban Base Summit - Saturday Oct. 11 from 1:00-5:00pm
Minnetonka United Methodist Church

17611 Lake Street Ext, Minnetonka, MN 55345

Join hundreds of suburban folks from the congregations and city teams of ISAIAH and/or Lighthouse as we come together across the region and begin strategizing for 2026 and beyond. Throughout summer and fall, teams have been hosting conversations and public actions to say "NO" to the ongoing threats to civil rights and essential safety net programs. This summit is a culminating moment to establish what we say "YES" to in a proactive strategy for the months and years ahead. We will also get grounded in the role we as the suburbs play within the multiracial, multifaith, multiclass movement ISAIAH is building.

Lord of heaven's reach, of earth reborn; you call us from starless graves to sing under infinite skies: we praise your name for those who have walked this way unheralded and unnumbered but known to you, their beginning, their end, their joy in life; give us the same grace to be unbound and take the step of faith; through Jesus Christ, the alpha and the omega. Amen.

All Saints' Sunday: November 2, One service at 9:30

On All Saints' Sunday, we celebrate all the saints, known and unknown, and the mystical connection between the living and the dead. Join us for this special day. We will read the Necrology during the distribution of communion and will have a special display in the All Saints' Columbarium Chapel honoring members of our community who have died in the past year.

The Book of the Names of the Dead

On All Saints Sunday, we will read the Necrology, a listing of those we love who have died. It is fitting to do this on the day we celebrate the communion of saints, the mystical connection between the living and the dead.

We invite you to place the names of those you would like remembered in the Book of the Names of the Dead, located in the All Saints Columbarium Chapel, or email the4 office with names you wish to have included (office@stdavidsparish.org).

In addition, we will continue our tradition of honoring those parishioners from St. David's who have died over the course of the last year. This honoring will take place with a special display in the Columbarium All Saints' Chapel.

Newcomer Ministry Seeking Additional Team Members

The Newcomer Ministry is reaching out to parishioners to join our team as "Shepherds" in welcoming newcomers into our fold. We envision the "Shepherd" role to be a St. David's parishioner paired with a Newcomer, serving as a resource or support for a period of time as the Newcomer becomes more integrated into community life at St David’s.

With this in mind, we are preparing to welcome St George’s members transitioning to St David’s and others who are joining us.

If you would like to learn more or would like to join the team, contact Ann Robinson or Jane Sandsmark

Bible Study Survey Results - Thank you & Stay Tuned!

Events across Our Diocese

An Exploration of Christian Nationalism

St. John's Episcopal Church, Minneapolis

What is Christian nationalism, and how is it different from Christianity? Is it the same as patriotism? How are Christians in the United States supposed to think about other countries?

Christian nationalism is an ideology that contends that America has been and should always be a “Christian nation.” It has become prominent in news coverage and among elected officials in the United States recently. Join us, and the Rev. Dan Stark, at St. John’s in the parish hall for four evenings this fall to explore this challenging but fascinating topic. Ultimately, we will explore what following Jesus’ Way of Love asks of us in relationship to this movement: how we, as Christians, should embody Jesus’ teachings as we engage the public sphere.

Prayers and Passages

We pray for healing of body, mind or spirit for those we love, especially Judy Albrecht (stepmother of Allison Ferro), Bobbie (mother of Nancy Mark), Jess Carter (friend of Vonnie Fiedler), Elynore, Anna and Will Culliton (relatives of Cindy Hillger), Joanne Downs (friend of Virginia Haggart and Ned Sorley), Lauren Gause (daughter of Keith Gause), Linda Halley (mother of Laura Hensley), Martha Hatcher, Sharon Herpers, Kimberle Lopac, Tom Lutz, David Maass (brother of Bill Jacobs), Mary Mann, Ann McNamara (sister of Eileen McNamara), Nicki Notermann (cousin of Steph Pederson), David Pearson, Lisa Popp (daughter of LaMar Popp), Bob Triebenbach, Mike Winter (father of Christina Haake).

We pray for those who have died.

We pray for all those killed by guns, in war, in churches and schools, on our streets, and in our homes. We pray for in the injured, for families, first responders, for all who are fearful and traumatized. May our grief and compassion give us a commitment and resolve to work for systemic change to prevent war and gun violence.

We especially pray for communities of faith traumatized by assaults during worship: the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Manchester, UK, on Yom Kippur; the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Michigan, Annunciation Church and School in South Minneapolis. For those killed and wounded by senseless acts of violence.

We pray for our country, for immigrants and refugees, and for the safety of the most vulnerable among us. We pray for the people of Israel, Gaza, Ukraine, Cameroon, the Sudan, and all impacted by famine, warfare, and climate crises. We pray for all affected by gun violence. We pray for all first responders and for hospital staff and all who help in times of tragedy.

For the world and its leaders, our nation and its people.

We pray for an end to racism and all systems of oppression.

We pray for those serving in the military, especially Aprille Mulvaney and Austin Hultman.
