Prepared Parents: Unboxed Learning Kit
UnBoxed - A monthly learning kit that unpacks the education families want, kids deserve, and teachers love, with a focus on students in grades 4-9.

Who’s it for?  Kids in grades 4-9. They’ve designed Unboxed to complement and enrich any existing school curriculum. It’s for the parent helping their kids learn at home, the community organization supporting remote learning or the in-person learning pod with multi-aged kids learning together.

Do I have to pay for it? Unboxed is free, because every kid deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.

For more information follow this Link to their website!

Is your Son or Daughter interested in trying out for the HS basketball team? If so, click this link for more information! Tryouts begin October 23rd!

Family and Community Engagement (FACE)
Hello Fairview Park Families,

I hope the transition to hybrid model has been smooth for all!
In my latest newsletters I have given ideas on setting up a schedule, bedtime routine ideas, good study habits, etc. It is always good to review some thoughts on our teens and social media. Here are two quick links that are a great resource -
2) From the documentary film, Like - LIKE is an IndieFlix Original documentary about finding a balance in our digital world. Technology is a tool. It’s here to stay and social platforms are a place to connect, share and care, but what’s really happening? Are we addicted? How do we stop? Where do we start? What do we need to know? By understanding the effects of technology and social media on the brain, on our lives and on our civilization, we can learn how to navigate it more safely together.
Our goal for this film is to inspire people of all ages, especially kids, to self regulate. It’s not about blame. It’s about looking in the mirror and empowering ourselves to create balance in our lives and to learn to be there for each other.
On Wednesday, Oct 14, we have teachers that are staying after school (3:30 - 6:00 p.m.) so families can come in for extra tutorials on our district tools (Summit, Google Classroom, etc.). Interested in having a one on one session? Sign up here.

If you need a different day or time, please reach out to me!
