School Pictures Update Picture retake day will be Tuesday, January 26th. If you purchased a packet and are unhappy with your pictures please send the envelope with the pictures to school on retake day. If your child did not get his/her picture taken on the first picture day and you would like to order a packet, please go HERE to place an order and notify your child’s teacher.

COVID-19 Dashboard, Case Reporting, and Quarantine Protocols   Our COVID-19 Reporting Dashboard is located on the homepage of the website and is updated daily. It includes active reported cases in our district, whether a student or staff member is remote or in-person. Weekly reports are provided to the CCBH on ANY in-person reported case within our district. If you are identified as a “close contact” of a COVID+ individual, you will DEFINITELY be notified asap!    As we move back into hybrid and in-person learning, we will continue to have positive cases reported. Our communication procedure is as follows... Once we are notified of a confirmed, positive case, we: 1) identify and notify (via email) those individuals identified as “close contacts'' (within 3ft for 15 minutes or more); 2) email students and staff who shared a classroom or other close space with the COVID+ individual, and; 3) send out a general notification email district-wide to all parents and staff.   The Ohio Department of Health also released an overview of updated quarantine protocols. Students and adults in K-12 schools may continue to attend in-person school, even during a normal quarantine period, if the following conditions are met:    The school has documented COVID-19 prevention policies, including universal mask wearing, social distancing, hand-washing, identification and management of students exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, and routine environmental cleaning and disinfection protocols. (We have.) The exposure occurred within a classroom environment or while on required school transport (e.g., school bus).    The person with COVID-19 and any associated contacts were wearing face masks that covered their nose and mouth at all times. If meals were consumed, a distance of at least 6 feet between students must have been maintained.  Social distancing was maintained.    The above guidelines only apply to classroom settings. Students should not attend in-person school if they are exposed to COVID-19 outside the classroom, including during sports and other extracurricular activities, regardless of masking. We will also continue to reflect reported cases, both students and staff, on our COVID-19 dashboard.

Kindergarten Pen Pal Program Would your child like the opportunity to be paired with a Pen Pal from another kindergarten classroom? Meet a new friend or learn more about someone they may already know? Improve their letter-writing skills? Receive some fun mail? If so, the Gilles-Sweet Pen Pal Program might be just what they're looking for!    The Pen Pal Program is an at-home initiative designed to connect students who are learning at home with students who are learning in-person in an effort to keep our student body connected during this challenging and isolating time. Participation in the program is entirely VOLUNTARY for students, and parents are required to manage the letter writing and mailing of all letters at home.    If your child is interested, please fill out this form and they will be paired with another student. All participating students will receive a "Starter Kit" including a pencil, fun writing paper, a "Getting to Know You" paper, and stickers that have been generously supplied by our PTA!    Remote students will pick up their kits at school and parents will be notified via email when they are available for pick-up. Car Line

Car Line We ask that you remain patient and drive cautiously. We ask that if you are not in the designated spots 1, 2, 3 that you do NOT get out of your car. We will be moving as quickly as possible, but want to ensure the safety of all students and staff. ALL STUDENTS WILL HAVE THEIR TEMPERATURE CHECKED BEFORE ENTERING THE BUILDING.   Drop off Questions for Daycare: Has your child had any fever reducing medicine in the last 6 hours? Is anyone at home feeling sick? Is your child feeling sick? Have you been exposed to anyone with COVID?   As the seasons are changing we ask that you remember the guidelines when sending your child to school, If your child is experiencing any of the following symptoms we ask that you keep them home. Fever (100 °F) Loss of Smell or Taste Significant Cough  Muscle Aches  Sore Throat  Shortness of Breath Chills  Headache Nausea/vomiting, diarrhea   Please call the office to report an absence by 9:30 a.m. 440-356-3515
